    Ajax - Inter

Well with Scudetto hopes on hold for atleast a year, itz high time we start to focus our attention on the only remaining objective for this season (I really dont treat Coppa as our objective)

So next in the line is Ajax, 1st leg away on 22nd Feb, 2006.

Currently Ajax is lying 6th in the Dutch league, having lost 8 and drawn 4 of their 23 games. Another fact is they have so far conceded 30 goals in 23 matches, more than 1 a match.

As far as previous records go ... itz 1-1 between us.

2002: We won 2-1 thanx to Crespo's brace (the 2nd goal was particularly impressive)
    1972: We lost 0-2

Players to watch out for: Sneijder. Pienaar, Trabelsi, Charisteas.

Wasn't the 1972 loss in the European Cup Final?

Sneijder is they're best player with difference, he is the dutch lampard and very young, we should keep an eye on him. Cambiasso should hold him al the game...

At last every 2 weeks i'm at the Amsterdam Arena(stadium of Ajax) and i know for sure that Inter have no problem with this Ajax. They play soooo badly, there coming a lot of Italian supporters at least 2000 Italians. Pienaar, Trabelsi and Charisteas don't play anymore for Ajax. Pienaar and Trabelsi leave Ajax in the summer and will not play for Ajax admits Danny Blind. Charisteas is a sub, first choice is Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

Yeah but that was more a loss to Cruyff's genius than to ajax.

Are you saying that Trabelsi and Pienaar will not play this game? Also, is Huntelaar the guy who came from Heerneveen? last January?

I just hope the team does not underestimate them. I have been keeping a clost eye on Ajax since we drew them in CL and I also think that with our team we should have no problems in taking care of business. Ajax have more that they can handle in their league and the CL is more a distraction as they know a solid place in the league is their key to European football next year.

Knowing our luck though we will end up facing a very tough opponent next round so might as well enjoy our european football as long as we can.

I wasn't scared of Ajax the least bit when we drawed them and now with players departing or not playing this seems like an even easier match. I expect nothing but convincing wins in both legs.
