Depends on what you're looking for. The night life pales in comparison to your country. The women on average are probably less good looking as well. However, If you want to look at nature, go tramping, or whitewater rafting, adventure outdoor type stuff and things like that then yeah I would recommend the place. As for hanging out with unibrow and co it should not be that difficult being that most flights to NZ normally stop over in Australia so you could simply have an extended layover instead.
I will say the exchange rates between the NZD and USD isn't the best it has been. if you catch it at the right time it can often be almost 2 to 1
well, it really depends though... volkswagen cars for instance are known for their durability. my uncle had one which last him throughout his life.
