    Hernan Crespo

Chelsea striker Hernan Crespo has admitted that he is on the verge of a return to Italian football this summer.

“Everyone knows that I want to play in Italy again,” he told the Corriere dello Sport newspaper. “Even Chelsea, who want to keep hold of me for life, have understood the situation.

“Roman Abramovich has asked me to stay, but it has got nothing to do with money. He knows I want to go and has put me on the market.”

Crespo initially joined Chelsea from Inter three years ago, but has since enjoyed a one-year loan spell with Milan.

Both clubs have again been linked with his services once more and the Argentina striker wouldn’t object to a San Siro reunion.

“Inter or Milan? It doesn’t really matter to me. I think I did well at both clubs and left a good impression,” he added.

“I’m just waiting for news now.”

The Stamford Bridge outfit are prepared to let the much-travelled forward go after netting Andriy Shevchenko from Milan for almost £31m prior to the World Cup.

Crespo will become even more tempting to Serie A sides seeing as he is also on the verge of gaining an Italian passport.

Crespo, formerly of Lazio and Parma, has also recently been associated with a switch to capital giants Roma.

Its official,he is on the market and we are linked to him,i wouldnt having him back at all, great finisher and thats exactly what we need,he was at lazio so thats a plus for mancini and i dont think he would cost us that much,i would go for him instead of toni.

Well i heard Chelsea want an incredible sum of him, something like 16mil£ was rumoured. If we get him in a reasonable price (5mil-12mil€) I'd say yes, after all it seems Toni WANTS to stay at Fiorentina and we are not moving for Tevez either

    I'd rather go for Toni.

    1. Crespo is much more a poacher than Toni and would be less compatible with Adriano.

    2. Crespo hasn't really had too good of a year whereas Toni is on fire.

Unless of course, Crespo is 10 million less than Toni then I'd jump on him like Hamed on a Julia Roberts movie.

toni will cost around 12-20 million while crespo would cost around 5 million, and to be honest crespo is a better striker than toni was/or will ever be.

I bet you anything Crespo wouldn't have scored 31 goals last season no matter who he played with, and right now I'd say Toni is much better than him and much more dangerous.

Toni is much more of a physical presence, in the air they are both good but since Toni is such a big man he is harder to mark. Also Toni is a better dribbler than Crespo and doesn't stay in the box as much as him which would make a better combo with Adriano.

Toni would be a safer bet, Crespo wouldn't guarantee us any success.

We do not need Crespo we have Cruz!!! And at the moment I do not rate Crespo any higher than him..
And Toni never denied that he would have liked to come to Inter or said he's staying with Viola.. He said that he never said he's gonna leave and that's totaly different thing..

Of course you don't, Cruz delivers consistently, Crespo doesn't. He was invisible against Germany, he's very overrated.

Even comparing the two is somehow laughable, I believe their cv’’s speak for themselves. The only advantage of having Cruz in the squad rather than Crespo is that the former never moans and gives 100% when called into action. Anyhow, I don’t see any point of getting Crespo back.

Sure and Cruz can only score against small teams, don't expect Cruz to be the type of player that will score 2 goals in a Champion's League final or the type of player that will turn a match around like Crespo or Toni.

Cruz is good for Inter's bench, don't overcredit him.

I recall Cruz scoring match winners against Juve and in the CL, I also recall Crespo gettin injured a lot, and now he's older. Crespo is also inconsistent, gives nothing to the teams and only plays for himself.

You're right Ashkan, they shouldn't be compare, Crespo is not good enough to clean Cruz's boots.

Exactly, had Cruz left or wanted to leave, then I'd consider Crespo.

However, it's not fair to compare Crespo, Toni and Cruz, Crespo is heads and shoulder above them all, it's not even close. I always respect a guy who scored 100 goals in Serie A. I also believe Hernan is capable of scoring 20 goals in Serie A if he is started constantly.

But that will all depend if Cruz get serious offers, what kind of schemes are we planning etc.

If Cruz went to, for example Fiorentina, I belive he would score over 20! Or at least near..
He was great in Fejenoord, good in not that good Bologna, and as I consider him only getting better with time (like whine lol), I belive he would have shined if he had joined some other great team instead of us...
So I think we can be happy to have a sub as good as him..

As regards to Crespo and as a reply to Hamed: Vieri was once considered the greatest (better than Crespo), where is he now? (It's retorical )
And he's 31.. Toni is 29... this two years difference means a lot!
So even we get Toni or we play with one striker (I know that Mancio sadly doesn't think the same way)...

2 year difference means shit! Toni's only good when you play only for him. And yes, Crespo would've not scored 31 goals since he can't score much with his head. But I personally consider Crespo > Toni as a striker. But I'd pick Toni if we'd go for either one. :p But if I'd have to pick Cruz, Toni or Crespo. I'd pick Cruz.

In that 2 years/seasons he can score 40 goals.. Does that also means shit?
If you look at carers of football players in general, you will find out that after 31 they aren't as near as good as they once were.. It's all downhill after that (if this expression can be used here).. So if we have to get one of these "class poachers" if prefer Toni cos he has the most football years left in his legs..
