    English Barclays Premiership 2006/2007

I think it'd be better to have a new thread for the new season.

I'll support Sheffield United in this one. Neil Warnock is supposed to be a complete *** according to the English, but when I had champagne with him he surely seemed like a cool guy.

Chelsea wont win it cause Shevchenko stinks, which will lead Mourinho to leave at the end of the season to us

Seriously Sheva was a terrible buy, costs way to much and the guy is wayyyyyyy past his best seasons.

Ballack was a great buy and no CB needed with Carvalho most likely to stay.

    Chelsea 06/07

    Cech
    Gallas-Carvalho-Terry-??????
    ..............Makakele...............
    ...Lamps............Ballack........
    ................................Robben
    .....^Sheva.........Drogba.........

Probably against smaller teams you might see a normal 4-3-3 with Cole and Robben on either side. Poor Essien...

???? = Carlos, Del Horno, Gallas, Lahm/Zambrotta are the most unlikely..

Bro I think Sheva'll rip it up in the EPL, your rating him based on his WC with a pretty half-decent Ukraine side. He'll have a great season with the London Globetrotters.

Man United's purchases will be interesting, they really need a good CM and they're linked with the likes of Xavi, Mascherano, Cambiasso etc.

I think they might pick up Emerson though.

No, its already clear who they will get..Michael Carrick for about 12-15 million I think. Almost a done deal.

Im hoping they get Riquelme so we cant get him

Cheslea is gonna win this season by more than 20 points. Sheva wont be a flop, he still has 2 years left in him, and is the most complete striker around. Chelsea have got great buys now, but ManU are most probably gonna end up losing their 2 most prized assests, RVN and Ronaldo. Serioulsy, the only little competition that Chesea is gonna face for the title is gonna come from Arsenal.

Big call 20 points, wont happen. Sheva does not hve 2 years left

Arsenal (if their transfers go right) and Liverpool will be the best challengers to the Blues.

I cant believe i'm writing this, but Shabaz is actually right about something. I think RVN and Ronaldo will both leave. Ronaldo is the most hated person in England now and did anyone here our fans boo him last night!

Pabs mate, villa will go down this season. They are dreadfull.

Chelsea will win again easiiy, but Liverpool will have another good season. They have bought Gonzales (people who know Spanish football know this guy, he is meant to be fantastic.) And they bought Daniel Alves, and Craig Bellamy.

I think Arsenal and Spurs will have good seasons too. My prediction is
    1. Chelsea
    2. Liverpool
    3. Arsenal
    4. Spurs
    5. Manchester Utd
    6. Newcastle

United will surely buy someone to replace Ruud...maybe Trezeguet?

I guess (if Carrick is coming to Utd, source: h2o.com) then we'll see something like:

    -----------Van Der Sar--------------
    Neville--Ferdinand--Heinze--Evra
    -----Ronaldo---Carrick---Giggs?-----
    -----Park/Saha--(??)--Rooney-------

Mike hel is right Carrick deal should maybe be done soon. Specially cos Spurs bought Zakora, and they will have a nice profit off him so they have some cash to buy more players. I think Spurs bought Burbatov earlier in the summer too?

Well i think the challenge fore chelsea will come from Liverpool and Arsenal.
And also tottenham looks pretey strong.
I doubt that ManU can keep up with them coz Ronaldo and Ruud will leave and also giggs aint getting any younger .
Which matches do you feel more, those with Juventus or Milan?
"With Milan, without doubt. And I don't like the Rossoneri fans either because they have a way of behaving, particularly when they win, that I don't appreciate."

Mike, don't forget the Scholesey is returning from injury next season. If Ferguson is still damn stubborn and tries the 4-3-3 again for next season again, they're screwed. 4-4-2 AKA 4-4-1-1 is clearly the way to go with Man Utd, their players and coaches are too damn used with it.

A mere formality with Chelsea's uber-squad. Nonetheless I'll pull for Spurs, whom I have a soft spot for.

Is Ronaldo coming back to ManU for sure? If I we're him I'd stay away from the British Isles for a long, long time. Hopefully RVN leaves too because I wanna see Rossi whom United fans gush over whenever his name is brought up.

Who knows at the moment. The Madrid president that wanted to buy him lost the election, so he will not go to madrid imo. The bloke that was elected wants to buy Robben and Fabregas not Ron, but we will see. I will be amazed if he stays at utd though. Everyone has turned on him (even utd fans). We dont want this cheat in our country anymore.

I think Smithy is getting better to, and if he is playing before christmas then its a miracle. Some thought he would never play again, but he is a good player and a much better striker than a middie.
