I still think this thread could have waited until it was officially announced. But oh well what the hell Moratti all but confirmed the deal today:

Anyways welcome Patty and hopefully that injury you sustained last season will not affect your performances this year. Some of your games with Juve towards the end of the season and in the second half especially were downright shameful. Lets also hope he and Cambiasso do not get overrun in the Derby like he and Emerson last season in the San Siro.

Prove to us that you are still the champion you were at Arsenal and the one we saw to a certain extent at the WC.

    Patrick Vieira

MILAN - A day in search of Patrick Vieira in the torrid heat of a Milanese August apparently seemed fruitless for the many journalists seeking news of the French midfielder's imminent move to Inter.

By mid-afternoon, Dr Massimo Moratti met journalists outside his offices to resolve any doubts, defining today as "Vieira's last day with the Bianconeri". The contract? "Yes, he should sign tomorrow." A four-year contract which in the coming twenty-four hours will see the French midfielder become an Inter player after making history for the Gunners at Arsenal.

Moratti also mentioned Toni and Ibrahimovic, adding: "Even if Toni wants to come to Inter, it does not just depend on him. Both Toni and Ibrahimovic are in the same situation. It depends on us, them and those who represent their clubs if one or the other comes. They are totally different players. Toni is the classic centre-forward while Ibrahimovic is a last-pass man who also knows how to score. But they are both very good."

    ---

Juventus midfielder Patrick Vieira is on his way to Inter, Nerazzurri owner Massimo Moratti confirmed on Tuesday.

The Frenchman was this morning linked with a move to Manchester United, but Moratti says a deal will be wrapped up in the next 24 hours.

“Today is Patrick Vieira’s last in Bianconero,” the oil tycoon stated. “I still haven’t met him, but he should sign his contract tomorrow and he is therefore an Interista.”

Vieira is believed to be in Milan after he flew into Europe’s fashion capital last night after his agent wrapped up talks with the club.

Moratti’s comments have also been confirmed by Juventus chief executive Jean-Claude Blanc in an interview with the L’Equipe newspaper.

“Inter and Juventus have settled on a fee for Vieira and everything is sorted out,” said the new Juve official.

"Patrick Vieira's departure for Inter will be the last operation done by Juventus this summer,” he concluded.

The Nerazzurri are expected to pay something close to £6.5m for the former Arsenal captain, who was signed by Juventus a year ago from the Premiership for just over £14m.

Vieira is now expected to put pen to paper on a four-year contract worth £3.5m a season once he passes his medical.

Inter were in need of a central midfielder after losing Juan Sebastian Veron who returned to his homeland earlier this summer.

Vieira’s arrival will now cast more doubt on the future of David Pizarro who already bemoaned a lack of first team opportunities at Inter last term.

MILAN, Aug 2 (Reuters) - Juventus have sold midfielder Patrick Vieira to Inter Milan for 9.5 million euros ($12.11 million) -- less than half what they paid for the French international a year ago.
Juventus said in a statement that it booked a capital loss of 8.6 million euros on the sale, part of an exodus of players from the Turin club following a match-fixing scandal that led to their demotion to the second-tier Serie B league.

Juve bought Vieira in July 2005 for 20 million euros from Arsenal. He played for Juventus only for one season in 2005-06.
Vieira, a candidate to take over from Zinedine Zidane as captain of France's national side, is the latest player to leave Juventus after the club were relegated to Serie B for conspiring with referees and linesmen to rig games during last season.
Inter were awarded the 2005-06 Italian league title last week after a sports tribunal revoked Juventus's title win.

    ---
MILAN - Patrick Vieira has signed for F.C. Internazionale after passing a medical. The French midfielder has signed a four-year contract until 30 June 2010.

I'm still in a dilemma whether this is a good transfer or not. Let's just hope that Vieira will play like the player we saw in Arsenal and in the latest World Cup.

Btw, if I'm not wrong, he was involved in a fracas with Mihajlovic before?

Vieira is professional and will not demand No.4. Zanetti used this number more than 10 years and he is our captain. The situation will be similar to Beckham's one when he joined Real Madrid.

Are you guys nuts? Nobody has the gall to demand the number 4 jersey.

    Vieira knows that, everybody does.

Vieira will never get number #4 or at least as long as JZ has it.

congrats for signing Vieira. Hopefully he is something like the missing jigsaw or whatever. I'm a long time admirer of him and if he is out to prove something this year, which I really really hope, he is among the top 5 in his position.
He has a winner mentality that few other players have and he is a true character. Hopefully he will lead Inter to better years.
