Germany has seen a tremendous development since their reunification. Throughout the 90s they were the 2nd or 3rd best league, then they dropped in the early 2000s. Enter World Cup 2006. Bunch of new stadiums and infrastructure development and soon German clubs became consistent in Europe while Italians struggled to keep up.
Now Germany has the 2024 Euro. Out of the 10 stadiums used, only two (Stuttgart, Leipzig) have had work done on them for the 2024 Euro. Not sure if there are plans for older stadiums (Hamburg for example).
Italy since 1990 used 12 stadiums, only the Friuli is upgraded. Two of them have been demolished (Delle Alpi and the Cagliari one).
The stadiums in Florence, Naples, Rome and Bologna have seen some superficial renovation, mostly to comply with certain regulations.
Infrastructure is inadequate.
It's not just us building a new stadium or renovating the Meazza. Even if we stay put, having Italy improve its infrastructure alone will also be a financial boost for us.

Should it be confirmed that Inter and the Ownership are not appreciated by the current administration, we will take the consequent decisions.
This is what Mayor said earlier today:
“Until Inter clarifies their fate, things must necessarily be at a standstill for us.
“I want to say this clearly to the Milanese clubs: we are not just talking about a stadium but about a project which half the investment is on the stadium and the rest on the remainder of the area.
“It will take five or six years of work, and I cannot entrust a district of the city for such a long period when future ownership is not certain.”

Yes, the planning process should still be going ahead, absolutely. But I too want the ownership situation revolved ASAP. Ideally before we cripple ourselves with more debt for the stadium.
I too had the same reaction. Sala didn't say anything outrageous to be insulted about, our reaction is a bit over the top. Nevertheless, fuck Sala anyway

But you really think he didnt have an agenda when he said that? Wasn't he the same guy who kept stalling the project when things were find and Suning had all the money? Then now when everyone is struggling because of covid 19, he came out and spoke like it was always our faults.
Of course he has an agenda, everybody on that level has it. The point is to battle him with arguments and any means necessary, corruption even i dont give a fuck. We were ahead when we had a so-called stable owner, his only argument back then was san siro is a historic stadium... Now he can pull us apart in five different directions and all we can do is give cheesy and proudfull statements on our official website.
I know in fan's language, stable means how much and how fast an owner can spend. But if you can look past the financial stability, you can start to appreciate Suning's leadership.
Yes, we don't have the money know. But the moment we realized we didn't have money, Suning immediately looked around for funds, equity or debt. Moratta and co picked up their phones right away, talking to clubs, talking to our players. Payments were rescheduled, agreements were reached. All of that to ensure we didn't run into any legal issues and the team didn't suffer any hit to the morale. All rumors about late payments and Real would want Hakimi back, etc... were debunked instantly. The club never stopped working for a second. That's quality and stable leadership right there.
It's way easy when you have all the money to spend, Moratti had the money, Suning had the money. But only when shit hits the fan will you know who's really strong and 'stable'. When Moratti didn't have money anymore, it took us 9 years after our treble to get back to CL. When Suning doesnt have the money anymore, we're fighting hard for our first Scudetto after 11 years, with the most united, motivated and focused squad in our recent history.
Suning very likely won't stay with us past this summer, but at the same time, they know how to protect their assets in these tough times. How can you say this is not 'STABLE'?
My man, if government and specifically the president can shut your projects down just by snapping his finger, and we all know what kind of country china is, then thats not a stable owner in any way or form, never was never will be. You just have an appearance of stable until some shithousery happens.
Ask players and management of jiangsu suning how stable their owners were.
Yeah, both are right IMO. The ownership is not stable in the perspective of the city of Milano. Lots of rumors of the sale of the club and stuff like that. On the other hand, if Inter has not communicated anything particular to Sala, regarding the project, he should assume everything proceeds as agreed before.
Sala's comment is most probably related to politics. I read from a story that his party has allied with Greens who oppose the stadium project. And the elections have been postponed to October from May which is a fucking disaster regarding the stadium project if everything is stopped till that.

Suning's response and the club statement are right out of the playbook of the Chinese Communist Party: no one is allowed to have a voice, express an opinion or speak in opposition to Suning. If they do, they will inevitably respond, over react and slap down any opposition, regardless of whether the threat or opposition is perceived or real.
It is kind of laughable about how insecure they are. I wish they would just fuck off because I cannot see how Suning hanging on to Inter when they have liquidity issues and can not spend on the club is going to turn out any way other than bad. And the only people that do not seem to understand that are Suning themselves.

Yeah that is exactly what came to my mind from that response.
These kind of projects are so heavily politically connected, as they should have noticed by now, that you should not do such responses when the common ground is to fucking get that stadium built. Unfortunately it's possible it's politically connected on their (Suning's) part too. It's after all a big investment from their side too, 600m€ so is CCP allowing them to invest that money? Do they even have such money for the project at this moment?
Will be interested in how the super duper league changes the dynamic on this issue..if at all.
If half the games will be toured like a circus, probably becomes irrelevant.
