Inter legend and 1982 World Cup winner Beppe Bergomi has joined Atalanta's youth system. He'll coach the Berretti side

Is Zio even a good youth coach?? I love the guy but he has mostly been doing commentry work, not coaching.

Well Atalanta has produced some nice quality youngsters and primavera squads in the past, I doubt they would put an unqualified person in charge...

Maybe atalanta is taking a punt on him...There is really no indication yet that zio is even decent as a coach. I personally I am happy the management went with some with some xp at youth management.

Well its not like he has zero experience:

    - Coached Inter Esordienti (U-12) in 2008
    - Coached Monza Allievi Nazionali (U-17) in 2009
    - Coached Monza Berretti (U-19) in 2010

So Beppe is not part of our team because Moratti didn't back him when stupid Lippi wanted to retire him while he wanted to stay at least to help in the locker room? what a shame.

Since none of you fuckers bothered to post this:

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GIUSEPPE BERGOMI!

Inter would like to wish Giuseppe Bergomi a very happy 51st birthday

MILAN – Twenty seasons in the Nerazzurri jersey, 756 appearances for the club (second only to Javier Zanetti in the all time appearances stakes) and 28 goals. Giuseppe Bergomi was a one-club man, and to good fortune of us all, that club was Inter.

After making his first-team debut at the age of just 16 on 30 January 1980 (Juventus 0-0 Inter, Coppa Italia), Bergomi went on to carve out an illustrious Nerazzurri career which finally came to an end on 23 May 1999 in a 3-1 win over Bologna in Serie A.

Lo Zio, as he was known to the adoring fans, won one Scudetto (1988/89), three UEFA Cups (1990/91, 1993/94, 1997/98), one Italian Supercup (1989) and one Coppa Italia (1981/82). His greatest achievement, aside from the league title won under Giovanni Trapattoni, was the World Cup triumph in 1982.

On the day of his 51st birthday, let us play tribute to a true Inter legend. Happy birthday, Beppe!
Happy birthday legend. One of the very first names I learned to recognise after becoming an Interista.

  22. Thanks (2): Bob Sacamano, Ronin
