    Arsenal & Man Utd Seeded

Arsenal and Manchester United are again among the group of top seeds in the Champions League, while Chelsea and Liverpool will be in the pot of second seeds with the likes of AC Milan, Juventus, Roma and Internazionale.

Uefa’s seedings mean Arsenal and United, if they qualify, will avoid holders Porto and Spanish sides Real Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona and Deportivo.

The European governing body changed the way its seedings are decided in order to give more weight to how an individual club has performed in Europe in the past.

So Bayern Munich, Deportivo La Coruna, and Porto join the Spanish trio plus Arsenal and United in the top group of seeds.

Accordingly, when the draw is made in Monaco on 26 August, they cannot be drawn in the same group.

But United, Real Madrid and Deportivo La Coruna have to get through a two-legged qualifier first.

Of the two Glasgow giants, Rangers also need to qualify, while Celtic are likely to be among the third pot of seeds.

Uefa also revealed that the draw for the third qualifying round of the tournament will see seeded sides drawn against unseeded teams.

This means that Manchester United and Liverpool will avoid major European rivals such as Real or Juventus as they bid to line up among the final 32 teams.

Uefa’s Champions League seedings are as follows:
    1. Real Madrid
    2. Valencia
    3. Barcelona
    4. Manchester United
    5. Bayern Munich
    6. Deportivo La Coruna
    7. Arsenal
    8. Porto
    9. AC Milan
    10. Liverpool
    11. Juventus
    12. Internazionale
    13. Roma
    14. Lyon
    15. Chelsea
    16. PSV Eindhoven

    19. Celtic
    25. Rangers

Honestly, someone please enlighten me how in the world does this seeding system go??? Milan is 9th??? This is hillarious. Barcelona who has not made an impact in CL for a few years is ranked 3rd. This is absolutely hilarious.

I think it has to do with the no. of times each team entered the competition and how far did they go.
Milan apart from last 2 seasons didnt do a thing in the past 10 yrs.

Barca always qualified for a champions league, only last yr ther didnt.

But those seedings don´t tell me squat. What are the seedings for the qualification?

Inter has a chance to be up against Swedish Djurgården, which is just three hours away from my place. Should I dare to hope for a Swedish opponent again?

Just don´t let it be another Sporting. I think we would be in real trouble then, with all the new players and new coach.

I'm making a guess here but I think the teams seeded no 1-16 will not be able to face each other in the qualifying stage.

Yeah, another Swedish team will do. Just make sure they don't start with 'H' & ends with 'G' and it'll be find.
