Why don't people quarantine at home? Or if they're not citizens or permanent residents why are they even allowed into the country?

I agree with you, except for essential visit only PR and citizens should be allowed in.
I believe lots of people won't quarantine at home, I've personally known a few people who just came back and they don't quarantine and they aren't even trying to hide it lol.
As Lui said, those tickets are easily fought off.

I actually know know an old friend who went to Mexico for New Years, then when he got back he tried putting up all these stories on his Instagram about how he's just sitting at home listening to music and reading and whatnot for the next 2 weeks. A few days later I seen him on a nice stroll....to Taco Bell![]()

Dougie is putting us, Ontarians, back into lockdown. Literally was gonna eat out this weekend. No data to support closing down restaurants but here we are....

meh, not sure what to think at this point but I try to remain neutral.
I don't agree with the decision to shut down again but honestly at this point nothing much changes and I'll just work and chill until these 4 weeks go by. On one hand, they used the narrative of the long term care facilities for the past year or so being the biggest reason to shut down. Every LCF in the province is vaccinated now, so now they're talking about the variants of the disease and the fact that younger people are ending up in hospitals. This is true but they should also mention that a lot of people entering the hospitals with COVID now are fucking fat and have poor health to begin with. I'm feeling for restaurants and small business owners here. They haven't been able to operate their businesses properly for over a year now.
On the other hand, a vast majority of people are being irresponsible. Malls are getting packed, people are having parties, large scale gatherings, etc. I went to walmart 2 weeks ago and the amount of people I seen not wearing masks INCLUDING the employees was ridiculous. They all have the same attitude - 'trying to prove a point' and/or 'oh I'll be fine, 98% recovery rate/I don't have the virus, etc." people like that shouldn't be allowed into stores and if they are caught in a closed public area like that they should be charged for it. We can blame poor government decisions as much as we want here but this is 100% on both the government and its people. Too many self-centered and irresponsible people imo.
The next 4 weeks will go by, May will come and the lockdown will be over. Then it'll be June when most people will be getting the vaccine. I think there's a lot to look forward to, I try to remain optimistic. I'm buying a motorcycle in a few months so I'm already excited.

Pretty much, the ones I feel most for are the small bussiness and restaurant owners (except for Adamson Bbq, he's a dick but he makes mean Texas style bbq). My friend has a salon and she would have been fully booked next week starting Monday only to get blind sided by our good friend Dougie. They aren't shutting down Amazon or warehouses where there's been alot of covis outbreak bur they are shutting down restaurants and gyms? That's just not right. Anyway, I just feel bad for my friends who are actually struggling because they keep having to open and close and open and close their fucking restaurants because of our undecisive government. Either shut down the whole province properly for 2 weeks or don't do it at all

The Adamson BBQ and Chris Sky fellows are dumb as nails but absolutely hilarious to laugh atI actually saw Chris Sky's Instagram page the other day and noticed how many people I know who follow him. Feels bad to know stupid people bruh.
