Mancini? It'll be unfair to give him all the credits, just like it'd be unfair to let him shoulder all the blame.

    Thread moved by the way.

Like it or not, the 1989 side is remembered as Trap's Inter dei Record, and this side will be remembered as Mancini's. In Italy the coach gets all the blame, but also the glory.

By the way, speaking of records, I think we just broke another one? When Cassetti scored against one for Roma, I read that Roma broke the record by having 16 different players scoring in the same season for them. For Inter:

    1) Maicon, 2) Burdisso, 3) Cordoba, 4) Samuel, 5) Materazzi, 6) Maxwell, 7) Grosso, 8) Cambiasso, 9) Stankovic, 10) Vieira, 11) J.Zanetti, 12) Solari, 13) Figo, 14) Adriano, 15) Crespo, 16) Recoba, 17) Cruz and lastly, 18) Ibrahimovic.

Hmmm, when I counted it mentally, it was 17 so may be we broke the record when Recoba scored against Empoli.

Maybe it was a league record. Speaking without facts, I'd guess that ours are for the whole season in all competitions. But we may have broke it anyway

If you were talking about the list I made, no. If it was for all competition, I'd have included Andreolli and M.Gonzalez.

Every time Cruz scored in a 2-1 victory, Zlatan was always the one to score the other goal.

    Thanks Frisko.

It's interesting to note that 3 of the last 4 opponents in Trap's record season were Lazio, Atalanta, and Torino - the exact same teams, in the same order, that we're playing in this season's final 3 games.

Now that we have the final figures, look at this:

Trapattoni's side in 1988-89 played in a 18 teams tournament, with 2 points per victory.

They scored 58 points, but if you look at the table above you can see that they would have scored 84 points with 3 points per victory.

However, the played 34 games against the 38 we played this year (20 teams tournament).

Even if they won the 4 extra games we played this year, their total would have been 96 points.

Mancini has officially done it, he beat Trap's record!

New name for you, Sambuca, your officially Einstein.

You made us see what all the others knew.

Just kidding bro, to add to your post, Mancini won the Scudetto a week earlier than Trap.

I need to know how well we played in the European Cup that season? Or were we even there? What about the Coppa? Lets compare every single thing.

    Inter's historic 2006/07 Serie A season
    Monday, 28 May 2007 13:41:48

MILAN - Unforgettable. Unique. The 2006/07 Serie A title won by Inter already belongs to the great history of Italian football as Roberto Mancini's team have matched and set a host of new records throughout the campaign.

Courtesy of Football Data , here are all the Nerazzurri's 2006/07 season records:

107 goals scored: matches club record set in 1950/51 (38 games compared to 55 this season).

97 points (out of a possible 114): an all time record in the 20-team Serie A championship, bettering Torino's tally of 94 points in 194748 (considering 3 points for a win instead of the 2 at the time); all time record for a top European league, beating Chelsea's total of 95 points in 2004/05.

36 points (Inter's 87 points against AC Milan's 61): the biggest ever lead over the Rossoneri in the one-division Serie A championship. Without counting AC Milan's eight-point penalty, it is the second biggest lead after 1929/30 - 29 points (Inter 72, AC Milan 43, counting three points for a win).

33 consecutive matches without defeat: a new club record, and a new record in the 20-team Serie A championship.

First 31 games without defeat: a new record in the 20-team Serie A championship.

30 victories (out of 38 games): betters the previous record of 29 wins set by Great Torino side in the 1947/48 21-team championship.

17 consecutive victories: a new all time record in the one-division Serie A championship.

15 away victories: an all time record in the one-division Serie A championship.

Scudetto won with 5 games to spare: equals the record for the one-division Serie A championship set by Torino in 1947/48 and matched by Fiorentina in 1955/56.

Just 1 defeat: a new club record in the one-division Serie A championship; matches the all time record set by Juventus in 2005/06.

0 away defeats: a new club record, matches records set by Fiorentina, Perugia and AC Milan in 1968/69, 1978/79 and 1987/88 - all 16-team tournaments, and AC Milan again in 1991/92 and 1992/93 - 18-team tournaments.

This season will be remembered 50 years from now. Hopefully the important players stay, some new ones come and this is just the start of a dynasty.

And no stupid idiotic criticisms from Bilanisti or Jubentini can take that away from us.

Immensely impressive records indeed! And bear in mind that we did so in a season where everyone expected us to win. So I guess it all becomes even more impressive as our players knew they were under so much pressure before the season even kicked off!
