    Simone Bertini, classe 1987, difensore;

    It will be interesting to see if Mancio plays 2 equally strong teams, as somebody suggested, or if one of the teams will be the one likely to start against Basel.

    I hope Vieri and Davids will play as much as possible, so they could have a chance to play against Basel.

    This is from Inter.it, Mancini's thoughts on the games:

    "Days like this can happen. We try and make sure that all the players have the opportunity to play. With such a large squad, sometimes that's not possible, therefore 2 games in one day can be useful".

    "The first priority is to put as much energy as possible in the legs of every member of the squad. It's important that everyone gets used to play for 90 minutes, even the players not included in the Uefa list. We want to get everyone to a good level of fitness".

    About all the compliments received after the friendly games, Mancio said:

    "We won't get all excited when things go well, and we won't get depressed when they won't go so well".

    About Vieri:

    "He's feeling better, he's been training with the others for a couple of days and he can do everything. He must take it easy. We can't compromise a whole season to play friendly games. Tomorrow we'll evaluate the situation, see how he feels and for how long he'll want to be on the pitch. It's his decision because nobody knows his situation better than him. It's always difficult when a players trains on his own without playing, he's eager to come back".

    A curious fact:

    "Will I be on the bench for both games? Of course. First in Novara and then in Genova".

    This is the squad for these games:

    Portieri: Alberto Fontana, Paolo Tornaghi;

    Difensori: Simone Bertini, Giacomo Bonvini, Francesco Coco, David Galli, Daniel Semenzato, Gonzalo Sorondo, Flavio Visconti;

    Centrocampisti: Pasquale Costanzo, Nicolas Giani, Sabri Lamouchi, Giorgos Karagounis, Matteo Lombardo, Jacopo Ravasi;

    Attaccanti: Alvaro Recoba, Niocola Ventola, Christian Vieri.

    Mostly reserves and youth players. Especially in defence.

    Well, I found it surprising that Vieri is in this squad, not the other (The squad against Genoa). What got me more perplexed is the fact that Recoba is in this squad. I can understand if Vieri is here since this will be his first training match of the summer but not Recoba. Does this means that Recoba will be dropped against Basel and Cruz will partner Adriano? I hope not since Recoba - Adriano has always shown the potential to be one heck of a duo.

    IRAKLIS - INTER

    Lineup:

    Fontana

    Giani - Sorondo - Semenzato - Coco

    Lombardo - Karagounis - Lamouchi - Recoba

    Vieri - Ventola

    The defensive formation might be wrong. We play with three central defenders so I donŽt know who is playing right back.

    Karagounis might play as a right winger as well, but I doubt it. Recoba as left winger. How many wrongs this week was it for you, Helal25?

    I'm glad about the formations, Recoba didn't shine in the first leg against Basel and I'd love to see Cruz playing alongside Adriano.

    Inter wins 2-1 over Iraklis.

    Great surprise free kick from Recoba who shoots from just oustide the box.

    Karagounis scores with a great goal. He takes a shot from 20 meters out and scores a cracker of a goal with the ball finding the "7" in the top corner.

    Another tournament where Ventola goes without scoring. IŽll be surprised if heŽs still at Inter within a week.

    I don't know if playing in two places at one time is a good idea. However, we managed to beat Iraklis (Marcin Mieciel scored for Iraklis- i'm proud ), and then we were defeated in penalties by Novara. It's not nice to see Inter losing to a Serie C side, but I hope the better squad will not make the same thing with a Serie B team.

    BTW: Inter.it is getting worse and worse. There are only pre-match line-ups on the English version and on the Italian one we can not only see the score, but also post-match interviews

    Bart, I try and translate the most important interviews and news from the Italian version of Inter.it, and I post them in a thread in the General Inter Stuff forum. Fabio helps me out with that, but he's on holiday now. Anyway, just paste the links and I'll translate as soon as I have time
