Ancelotti should take the job. Would be nice to see Maldini next to him. Hopefully there's a clause where Tavecchio and his pals resign and some former player from the 90s takes over. Albertini should be called up to take his rightful place, maybe someone like Bergomi or Pagliuca, Baggio even... Or Maldini if he's not going into coaching.

The only exciting thing about Mancini is almost certainly would introduce Balotelli back into the squad.

You see people from Colombia, Oceania, Ireland(i think) pretending that at least ONCE in their life they saw a young wc talent arriving and becoming a world star.

Just a idea: if you want a serious debate about football, you should block everybody from countries that NEVER will win nothing and NEVER will have a balon d'or, for example.
Whats the point about those guys opinions??? Can i go to some New Zealand chat and start to teach them how to recognize the better wc prospects among young Rugby players?
Again, if you NEVER saw a young wc prospect struggling in his first years, like Kaka or Ronaldinho who were booed by they local supporters here, how could you judge????

Ancelotti along with Maldini would certainly make Italia interesting. Plus there is Jorginho now in the middle, and we'll certainly play a back 4. The nation has quality no doubt all over. Italy U-21, U-19's have also done well recently. A good leader of a coach is so so important. Just take a look at England.

I wouldn't mind Gasperini, he has developed like half the future team anyways. I rate Ancelotti, but he is too much of a "lets not rock the boat" kinda guy. Italy needs a revolution right now, maybe the next coach can be someone like Ancelotti.

Italy need to rebuild from the new generation. There are some experienced over-26 year old players who could help with the transition like Bonucci, Candreva, Immobile etc. But the new coach needs to build largely from players who are 26 and under, who will still be at their prime in 2022. Italy have decent talent there:

    GK: Donnarumma, Perin, Meret, Scuffet

Def: Rugani, Caldara, Romagnoli, Emerson, Conti, Zappacosta, Spinazzola, Florenzi

Mid: Insigne, Verratti, Gagliardini, Jorginho, Chiesa, Bernardeschi, Cristante, Verdi, Locatelli, Pellegrini, Barella, Murgia, Verde

Str: Belotti, Petagna, Cutrone, El Shaarawy, Berardi, Orsolini

And I am sure I have missed some... Italy has the talent coming up, its time to blood them properly.

Some reports suggesting Carlo Tavecchio will resign tomorrow as he has lost the support of the Players Association and Lega Pro President Gabriele Gravina.

also the president of calcio a 5 ("five a side" division) is stepping back. once the first pieces start to fall apart, all the others don't want to look like the last ones who stayed with tavecchio...

It's pointless if you're going to assign another Tavecchio.

well, even worst case scenario, it was still necessary: it had to be made clear that if something so big happens like italy not making it to the world cup, you can't get away with it.

the next president, whoever he might be, will at least make any effort to prevent such a disaster from happening again, remembering that tavecchio finally had to resign.

of course, if "anther tavecchio" is elected, we'll not make great progress, that's for sure.
