Official: Issah Eliakwu & Luca Franchini to Ascoli

Isah Eliakwu and Luca Franchini has finally found their team. This is especially relieving for Eliakwu, who seemed to get lost somewhere.

Ascoli is a Serie B side. An upgrade for Franchini who was on the bench for Serie C1 side Padova.

Jimster, can you give us a profile of Ascoli? Like:

    1) How did they do last season?
    2) What kind of formation and tactic do they use?
    3) Who will compete with Eliakwu and Franchini for their spot?

Good that they were loaned out. Now they can get some playing time in the bigger than Primavera but smaller than Serie A league

Week 1 and Eliakwu came on as a sub. Sadly he didnt score, but they probably played against the team who will finish 1st, i believe. Empoli won and lets hope next week Eliakwu starts and can be on target. The more he plays the better.

    NB: Franchini did not participate.

Did he actually end up scoring this season?

Nope, he appeared 25 times, mainly as a sub I suppose, and didn`t score a single goal. Not very impressive.

That is a worrying stat. But When you look back at Martins he was lucky to be with us as when he made his debut we had to win the game and he was our only foward he missed lots of chances and eventually score against Bayer. Now he is one of our stars.

Don't be fooled by the awful stats, Eliakwu is a great future prospect. I'll admit it's a terrible record, 0 goals in 25 appearances, but the hardest goal to score is always the first. Once he breaks the ice (with whichever team he joins next) he will be scoring regularly.

It's the same with all strikers, believe me. When Vieri wasn't scoring, he finally got one and then he scored regularly from then on.

Don't doubt Ali's ability, he probably just lacks
    -confidence in himself
    -faith from the coach
-good midfield support who can provide him with chances he would put away
    -regular playing time

I've got a good feeling for this player. One day he'll be a big hit, better than Kanu.

That is correct. I was wondering if we want him now can he come or is he attached to Ascoli for another season? I would love him to be our 5th striker he has the potential to do well from what I have seen.

    Ali! unleash the beast!
