These bloody .mkv files are driving me insane. All the Scudetto stuff (or most of it) uploaded by Toone is in that format.
Now, I can watch it on my PC using VLC Media Player, but I usually save avi or mpeg files on a disc on watch it on my dvd player (which plays those formats, but doesn't like mkv).
I tried looking for software to convert the mkv into avi, but the conversion seems to take forever...
Please help!!

And I thought I'm the only one who have this problemstill can't see the Dressing Room celebration. Have been searching on YouTube, not there yet.
Actually if there's someone here who's savvy enough, able to convert those files from MKV to WMP, is that do-able? WMP is the most ideal one, almost every comp (including those ancient ones) can play it.

Can't you use KMPlayer or media player classic?
His problem is his dvd player( not computer dvd drive) can't play mkv files. He can play the files with vlc on the pc but he likes to play them on the dvd player.Originally Posted by Edlaut

all you need to do is do a google search for all-in-one video and audio codecs
there are heaps of free all-in-one codec packages that are less than 5 mB in size

Yeah as Stefan said, I'm fine watching the files on my pc (even if only VLC plays mkv for me, media player classic doesn't).
What I want to do is just play them on my dvd player, which is fine with divX, avi, mpeg but nothing else.
I'll give those programs a try, cheers guys.
