Inter - Roma (SuperCoppa Italia) (24 Aug 08)

There were rumors floating around that it was going to be in either NY of Philly.

What's the status on this game? Will it take place in one of those two locations?

I would die if it were in Philly. Seeing inter play would make my year! I really hope the league accepts Philly's offer to host...

wow, so are they playing in Philly or NY? Watching inter will be fantastic, and it's not a friendly

I watched Manchester vs Barcelona in Philly in summer 2003. It was a friendly but was still good! (But it's true that not many people in the stadium understood football/soccer - some kids asked why you kick the ball for corners and throw the ball for throw ins )

I agree with Azzkikr, play the Supercoppa away from Italia isnt a good idea.

Goodness, did we suck at penalties. Not a single penalty was convincing.

If inter.it says San Siro, then its SAN Siro. They never confirmed that it was going to be played in the states or anything like that. They only looked at the possibility.

Personally I am happy with this. Had it been in the states it would mean a horrible kickoff time.

Well I guess it's better for the team to not travel to the US right before the season starts. It's bad for us though

Looks like it is still going to be in San Siro. Aug 24 is drawing near and no news about changing Venue.

Fuc*k man, I was really hoping it was in the Giants stadium. I was about to apply for my US visa, and really wanted to catch this game, as well as visit friends. Would have been a dream to see Inter play in an stadium.

Toronto has such a big Italian population, I just really wish Inter would play in Toronto some time.

This should put an end to all speculation on where the SuperCoppa is going to be played.

it s official the game will be in San Siro and i'm really scared about this game if we can win cause we'll miss chivu, cordoba, and materazzi for samuel i'm not sure cause he's train with the ball but i dont know if he will be ready for now i see burdisso-ferrari in center of defense i hope mourinho is not gonna bring cambiasso as DC

I don't really care about the trophy, honestly, it's all about pride that's on stake here since we're facing our biggest rival of these past 4 years, and who knows, this could be the final chapter in this rivalry, considering how the other teams have strengthened this summer.

Sorry for you guys, who were hoping to see it live in US, but speaking from my selfish point of view, I was hoping the first official game under new managment, will be played in front of our fans. That is a nice way to start this adventure.

As for the game itself, this will be hell of a great beggining of the new season of football in Italy. Spaletti, with his entertaining football, and the first real encounter with Jose's Inter.

We have to win this game though. This will be good for the morale of the opposing teams, who are counting on Jose slip up as a manager of Inter, that I'm sure won't happen.
