Why is Inter bad in selling players?

I always noticed Inter is so bad in getting large transfer fees while selling its players ?
I see the latest player sold with a big sum was Crespo back in 2003.

I know many of you will tell me we are a big team we aren't supposed to sell and this stuff...but even Madrid get a 30M pounds in Robinho....Barcelona 30 M euros in Deco and Ronaldinho.....Manutc 35 M euros in Beckham and 18 M euros for RVN...even Chelsea got 36 M Euros...Milan got 45 M euros in Shevchenko...

Since 2003 we didn't make any large transfer out of the club...our managers and Moratti are weak in securing large sums for selling players as Lyon's Aulas or Sevilla's Del Nido do with their clubs....

Because we used to buy crap/old players/injury prone players. Other than that- salary issues. It's pretty hard to cover salaries of even our squad players for middle clubs.

    Isn't it a good thing?

For one, we don't sell players to likes of Madrid who can pay well. We buy from them.
Most of our players are not as high profile of hyped as the EPL fucks.

We don't sell our important players like Ibra who would go for big money.

Since you are looking at the recent years...our transfers have either been young players whom we are looking at for long term..or old ones like Crespo, Figo who of course won't get us big transfer fees.

The issue is being able to get rid of our old players but that can take time..we will surely see our squad reduce in Jan.

If you would read your post couple of times, I think you would even there, find an answer to your question.

    What players have you mentioned?

Robinho - the best, or one of 2 best Real players last season,

Deco - 12 mln or something, I wouldn't call that great revenue, from what they have paid Porto(20 mln + Ricky I believe or something close to that?)

Dinho - 80 mln last year, 20 mln this year, and this is good ?

Beckham - same, still in top form when he was leaving United for Real Madrid

Sheva - Golden Ball winner hello :>

Now what kind of players have we sold? Were they all first team players, playing very good for Inter, and having good ratings? I don't think so :> Just look at Ronaldo, and how much did we got for him in total? Wasn't it something close to 40 mln ?

The problem we have, is every top club problem, when selling the players who didn't excell in the club, didn't make up for the promise they gave before, and who are very well paid, in many cases, they are paid much more, than what is the highest paid, of the pottentialy interested sides.

ps. If we would put Ibra on the markte, I guarantee you, we would get a record fee(in tearms of Inter) for him, probably with Madrid his destination.

rockball and Luka got it right. We generally do not sell players when they're on their prime. If you want to dig at the archives and mention old cases () like Seedorf & Pirlo, we sold them because Seedorf was crap with us and Pirlo because Tardelli/Lippi was clueless. But the revenue we got from Crespo & Ronaldo was very good.

And another extraordinary case was, of course, the F.Cannavaro case. There was definitely shenanigans involved, as no one in their fucking right mind would trade him for freaking Fabian Carini.

I think he has already lost some of his form in his last season in Man Utd, but that's for another discussion. We all know, that the main reason why Real Madrid wanted Becks and why the transfer fee got so high is because David Beckham is the biggest, most fertile fucking cash cow in the history of 'soccer.'

I guess we are not a selling team, actually english teams have been more selling because that league has always been the fourth best in the world, and not a top2 like its now thanks to millionaires.
madrid or munchen, have no idea how to sell. also, they will never sell a good player and thats why they don't get the money. we don't get money because the players we don't want are trash (dacourt, suazo etc..)

I think it is good we are keeping the players in their prime. I do not see a problem with the strategy we are having now, look at the team we have assembled.

    No Milan player

Maybe Branca should have threatened Suazo and dacourt ala Moggi.

On a serious note club directors cant do much when a player doesnt want to leave or go play for a certain team.

Tiago is a good example of a player who wont leave regardless on how hard a club pushes the player.

About Dacourt and Crespo the other Inter players who were tipped to be on market, cannot be blamed for staying. I mean this could be Dacourts final year in his proffessional career and he probably wants to end it on a high note, being apart of an Inter team instead of some lowely side.

The same can be said for Crespo, who when he was given a contract extention was i believe in the middle of the 07/08 season or even before, when he had been great in the previous season and deserved an extention.

So we cant blame these players for not leaving, as like Vieri mentioned not long ago, that he regretted leaving Milan, and looking at how many clubs hes been in after that (Monaco, atalanta,Fiorentina,Atalanta again) hes right.

Regarding Good players, Well Moratti doesnt like to sell his good players unless they demand a move.

Think about it this way, what's the point of selling Ibrahimovic for a crap load of money? It's not like we can buy someone better then him at his position.

We sold Grosso which I thought was dumb, but we have left backs, like Maxwell and Chivu

I'm not sure if we can call the Kovacic sale a good one. We got good money but we all know the potential we let go.

Wait, what? How can anyone call Kovacic a good sale? The player we let go and the money we got for him was anything but good.

Also, even if what you're saying is true (it isn't), 2 good deals doesn't mean the club is good at making deals. Because the past 5 years say something completely different. This club has been absolute dogshit in the transfer market. Our clout and the money we have spent makes our downfall even more of a gigantic fuckup. If other clubs spent a proportional amount of money on garbage as we did over the past few years, they would get relegated. There are a lot of things you can make excuses for but our appalling transfer record is not one of them. It's so blindingly obvious that some of the people who ran this club under Moratti never worked anywhere else. They threw around amounts of money on mediocre players that smaller clubs wouldnt buy for anything more than 2 million euros, even 700k in some cases. The arching lack of patience also shows they had no idea what they were doing.

Sold Ronaldo, Kovacic, Pirlo, Seedorf, Coutinho. I would say Inter is good in selling.

Add Sneijder and Motta to that list. We kicked Wes out of the team and significantly lowered our bargaining power on the market. Motta said he wanted to leave in the summer and we could've gotten more money then. Moratti said no and he left in the January window for 11 million, which is nothing for a player of his quality. We have sucked donkey balls at selling our players.

Timing and quality. We buy shit mostly, at least as the previous couple of mercatos and then our timing with selling was always off. Extending with higher salaries when it's wiser to part ways and then trying to sell.
Inter is an artistic venture, almost poetic. It is capable of provoking immense, unreachable joy and bitter disappointment. It’s never done by half-measures.
For me, Inter is the opening to new worlds and courage. It’s a strong passion, a marvellous illness. You can put up with the weaknesses and admire the courage, the same way you would with a son.

The thread was about getting a decent transfer fee when selling, not a slight consideration about the evaluation of the whole sale operation. Just talking numbers.

    You guys are so boring
