    Inter - Anorthosis (22 Oct 08)

less than 2 days left, and no topic for this game? wow.

so yeah, we have a game this midweek, against Cypriot debutants Anorthosis. They have pretty good until now, having gotten a goal less against Werder in Bremen on game day 1, and getting the better of Panathanikos
    on second game day.

Still no excuses for us not to win this one, quite easily. Hopefully Mourinho doesnt keep a grudge against Adriano, and starts him.

A must win. Our serie a fixture become quite difficult after the two ties with Anorthosis. The game against the Greek is in between Juve and Napoli!!!

If we win the next two round against Anorthosis, we will be safe to the next round and can focus on the Serie A

    bingo

Mancini deserves a start because he's a very good player that can actually do something on the field instead of watching Quaresma attempt a trivela everytime he gets the ball.

but i wouldnt mind this either

We play well with the 4-4-2 and this is a shitty team so we should be offensive.

An early goal and we will get bored counting the goals we score...
No goals by half time will mean that we will have lots of trouble winning, since they are a lucky team with compact defence.

I predict something not less than 4-0

    1919 I love your lineup.
Balotelli should be given some time in this game as well

I would love to see a Super Mario, Adriano, and Zlatan trident. Wouldn't mind seeing Mancini as well, since he didn't play a full game last game.

Just when is Maxwell gonna be available?

And we are doing everything, to drawn the people to the stadium

I think we will go for the 4-4-2 this time, and change midfielder for "attacker". This game is easy on paper, and there is just no need for 3 midfielders, when it is obvious it will be us attacking most of the time.

Ibra is a sure thing. As the second striker, I think it is between Adriano and Cruz, or maybe even SuperMario, but this is in case the other winger will be Ricky/Obinna.

One of the wings will be Mancini 100%, and the other one could be suprisingly Obinna. I think Ricky will have a little rest after Roma game. I think at least 1 game, but maybe more, like 2, or 3.

But I think SuperMario was rested for this game, and he will play 100%. Could be

    -------------- Adriano -- Ibra --------------

    - SuperMario ---------------------- Mancini -

    ------------- Cambiasso Muntari ------------

I just checked, and you're pretty right

Still stand by my idea of a line-up though.

    Toldone starting this match!!
Mourinho does reward those who train hard

In today's UEFA news conference at the training ground, José Mourinho announced that Francesco Toldo will keep goal for Inter in tomorrow's Champions League clash against Anorthosis Famagusta.

"I'm used to the pressure because I have played in Serie A for fifteen years," Toldo told journalists in the press room. "I'm convinced I will do well and I'm convinced the team will do well because I feel important.

"I have always felt I'm up to the task and I'm pleased to have this opportunity. I hope to repay with an excellent performance, not with words. I have never felt I'm a first- or second-choice goalkeeper. I have always felt part of a group that I adore. When you're not playing the secret is to keep a professional attitude."

Asked to reveal the secrets of Mourinho's excellent relationship with his players, Toldo replied: "If it's secret it will stay secret. He has a lot of qualities and I don't like talking about the secrets of others, out of respect for the people we're talking about. He stimulates all 29 players, not just those who go on the pitch, and this is one of the coach's great abilities."

If I'm not mistaken Walter Samuel isn't registered for the CHL as well...
That's a negative fact because the game against the Cypriots would have been a great opportunity for our Argentinian defender to gain some match fitness and return on the pitch again after such long period out...
And I think that with Samuel back on form, our defense will be strengthened even more..Hope we register him for the knock-out stages..

i expect nothing less than a easy win with many goals..
I predict we'll see SuperMario back probably alongside Mancini and Zlatan...
If that problem with Adriano is finished I also wanna see our Imperatore back and ready for action again..I think it's necessary to discipline players for unprofessional behavior but the Brazilian seems to have find his lost trust in himself and I consider it a mistake not to be given the chance to play for more matches than the one against Roma..

Also,Mourinho said in the pre-match press conference that Toldo will be our goalkeeper tomorrow night...

    Respect for Anorthosis..

    Very happy for Toldone.

It is an important game, and another proof Jose isn't afraid of the choices, that could be portraited by others as strange.

I'd love to see a 4-3-3 with SMB, Adri and Mancini supporting him.
We've played Ibra too much.... I know it wont happen.

I'm pretty sure Quaresma will start this game. He needs confidence, and Anorthosis is not so strong.

This give me confidence. With mancini, the players he chose, he often chose over and over, not caring about form. I am confident that mourinho will start the players he see's as strongest going into the game, which gives me much more confidence. (he's the man)

Yes, that was an issue in the second half of the season last season. Cambiasso and Maicon were just exhausted. Even Zanetti was.

Anton, let's just not get overwhelmed here. Mancini used to choose Toldo for Coppa matches and easy CL matches. Mourinho hasn't really come with something new.

I'm sick of people making Mourinho look great, even if he does stuff other coaches do. If he starts giving instructions to players, they all call him a genius. If he starts walking down the line, the camera's on him. He is a special coach, but not everything he does is special
Goalkeepers: 1 Francesco Toldo, 12 Julio Cesar, 22 Paolo Orlandoni.

Defenders: 2 Ivan Ramiro Cordoba, 13 Maicon, 16 Nicolas Burdisso, 23 Marco Materazzi, 26 Cristian Chivu, 39 Davide Santon.

Midfielders: 4 Javier Zanetti, 5 Dejan Stankovic, 19 Esteban Cambiasso, 20 Sulley Muntari, 33 Amantino Mancini, 36 Francesco Bolzoni, 77 Ricardo Quaresma.

Strikers: 8 Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 9 Julio Ricardo Cruz, 10 Adriano, 45 Mario Balotelli.
Looking at the squad, I wish for this line-up:

    ------------Toldo---------------
    Maicon - Cordoba - Materazzi - Chivu
    Zanetti- Cambi - Muntari
    SMB- Cruz- Adri

this should be a real easy game and would be nice to give some of our other players some time and especially with our injury problems dont want to risk anything

    ----------------Toldo------------------
    Maicon--Burdisso--Matrix--Santon
    -------Zanetti--Bolzoni--Chivu
    Queresma---------------------Mario
    ---------------Adriano------------------

decent team but not really starting 11 anything basically give some of these guys more time, and some final chances

hope Quaresma is at least good in Champions league cause if he sucks in Serie A but has his porto form at Champs League then maybe he wont be so useless

Adriano needs to start scoring or will go down to 4th string

like to see the youth players getting some minutes and guys coming off injury regaining form even with our 2nd string we should be able to beat these guys or we dont deserve to win champs league
can we stop buying fking MFs!!!

Dude this lineup is suicidal. This is a CL game and a must win one in order to secure top spot. Don't underestimate them, look at what happen to the Greeks and Bremen.

We should play close to full strength
