    Inter - Panathinaikos (26 Nov 08)

OK, time to set the Derby d'Italia aside and return to normal business. Next match is against Panathinaikos at the San Siro. Hopefully more fans will turn out for this match after the poor crowd showing against Anorthosis. This could, and should be the match where we seal qualification to the knockout stage. We must not risk going to Bremen with the weight of having to win to qualify, that'd be too risky. Hopefully Ibrahimovic is rested, though I highly doubt it.

I would like to see 4-4-2 with our new wingers...We really need them big time over the long run and this looks like a good opportunity to make up with the fans...Ohh and rest Ibra and Maicon.Lets go back to being retro and make this game a challenge

I would like to see Mancini or Quaresma participate in this match. Maybe like Ziyad suggested, but 4-4-2 with one of winger inserted.

I dont wanna risk not getting maximum point and have to rely on last match away to seal top spot. Balotelli should be given a run as well

I think we can bet on that. Pao game at home is not the same as JuBe, and we need a win there.

Also, with not any of the wingers used in JuBe game, I think they will definetly be used on wednesday.

I would like to see something similar to this for the lineup on Wednesday:
    Toldo
    Zanetti Cordoba Samuel Maxwell
    Mancini Viera Cambiasso Quaresma
    Cruz Adriano

We should field a mix of players that start and others that are usually benched.

    For me, it'd be:

    Toldo
    Santon - Cordoba - Matrix - Maxwell
    Zanetti - Cambi - Vieira
    RQ - Adri - Mancini

i also think that we should play quaresma and mansini because we will win this match easily. panathinaikos is only good at home, so we really should not have any problems.

    is suggest this lineup:

    toldo

santon cordoba samuel max(chivu if fit)

    rq vieria stankovic mansini

    adriano crespo

I hope we do not start with Ibra again. Shudder to think what may happen to our season if Ibra breaks down. Give him rest - he needs it.

Crespo is not in CL list. May be Balotelli in his place. Plus dont think we can rest Maicon and Ibra in the same match - we have not qualified yet.

WTF is wrong with you people! Ibra will not be benched and neither will Maicon or Julio Cesar. We should never under estimate anyone after what happened with Anorthosis.
    Best match thread opener ever.

I don't see how Ibra needs a rest... He just had a week off.

He has had some rest, but I think Maicon needs it more than him. I hope Santon debuts.

Ibra should rest since we'll play against a very difficult team(Napoli) on probably the most difficult ground in Serie A (San Paolo) and the fact that we should give others a chance namely Balo/Mancini/RQ

Maicon should definitely rest. He's start all of our matches, I think. Santon should start, if not Zanetti.

Guys we are not qualified yet. I do not get this Santon-hype. I can bet he is no going to start this match, too much risk to take by starting a 16 year old. If Maicon do rest, it will be JZ taking the RB spot. Do not underestimate our opponent.

    Vieira To Miss Panathinaikos Clash

Inter will be without midfielder Patrick Vieira when they face Greek side Panathinaikos on Wednesday in Champions League action.

The French international played the last few minutes of Inter's 1-0 victory over Serie A rivals Juventus on Saturday, but will take no part in Champions League action this week.

Vieira trained separately from his teammates on Monday, doing individual exercises and receiving physio therapy in the gym. Nerrazzurri team doctors revealed that the former Arsenal player has slight inflammation in the tendon of his left leg.

This means Inter will likely line-up the same midfield they did against Juventus with Dejan Stankovic, Esteban Cambiasso, Sulley Muntari, and captain Javier Zanetti.

Inter face Panathinaikos at the San Siro on Wednesday at 2045 CET.

Ok...all players...come back to the ground. We have important -could be decisive- match coming here. We need to win this. That way we don't put pressure on the last match to qualify. Coz ya know...how well we're dealing with pressure.

No Vieira? Maybe we'll see Sulley again. And definitely can't rest Zlatan. In fact, Zlatan-Adri should be tried again.

The first game we shocked them by playing & defeated them easily on their home ground. This time they will be fired up to play some revenge. Definitely going to play hard.

Really want to see which tactic Jose is going to come up with.

    Is Chivu back?
