As a home team they are really strong and seriously against the big teams. But as I can remember we didn't have probs to beat them as we beated 5-2 in 06/07 and 2-0 in 07/08. So I hope this will continue with an ease win over them.

After a promising start to the season, Walter Zenga's side has been abysmal. Look at their recent form:

    Sampdoria 3-0 Catania (23 Nov 08)
    Catania 1-1 Lecce (29 Nov 08)
    Milan 1-0 Catania (7 Dec 08)
    Fiorentina 2-0 Catania (14 Dec 08)
Catania 3-2 Roma (21 Dec 08) (Their last victory, and an excellent result I must say)
    Napoli 1-0 Catania (11 Jan 09)
    Catania 1-2 Bologna (18 Jan 09)
    Genoa 1-1 Catania (25 Jan 09)

However, despite their recent poor form their overall home form is still impressive. They have 22 points from 30 possible. But, that shouldn't be an excuse. We'll have Ibra back after his suspension and Juve will be facing a team in an even worse form (Udinese) so this is a must-win match!

Looks like we were not too convincing versus Samp last night. Ibra will be back for this game partnering Adri. I am eager to see what the pair can do with Deki holding the AMC role. I believe these three will be the key against Man Utd.

Santon can keep his starting spot and hopefully no one is heavily injured from last match. This is going to be a difficult match for sure.

I just hope Adri doesn't get a ban for his punching incident against Sampdoria...

I re-looked at the incident.... I am sure Adri will be punished. They even gave Muntari a 2 match ban from that Tedesco play acting. I am just glad at least Zlatan will be back otherwise I really do not know who to look forward to on the field for attack

I pray to see Balotelli called up for this one cause I don't know if i can sit through another Ibra/ Crespo partnership... If it does happen, i hope that Crespo finds some damn form...

Yeah but Inter will lodge an appeal and it might get reduced...

We're also having some injury problems for this one..

chivu and samuel are both injured and probably can't make it for this match..

if we also consider Materazzi's unavailability,it's gonna be Cordoba-Burdisso for this tough clash..

Lo Monaco vs Mourinho #2 back online while Zenga talk good things.

    Zenga: Mourinho is the best

Catania Coach Walter Zenga has praised opposite number Jose Mourinho ahead of Wednesday's Stadio Massimino clash against Inter.

The Elefanti's away game with Inter in Week 2 ended acrimoniously after the Nerazzurri needed a controversial own goal to secure a 2-1 win.

Catania sporting director Pietro Lo Monaco exchanged harsh words with Mourinho after September's battle, but Zenga has eased the tension.

“It will be an important game for the fans and the players against Inter this Wednesday,” Zenga asserted.

“Tonight I will watch a video of the Nerazzurri's game against Sampdoria and see what we are up against.

“I want to take the opportunity in this Press conference to wish Mourinho happy birthday - in my opinion he is the No 1 in the coaching world.

“But we will fight as hard as we can. We put in a good performance against Genoa because we were diligent and we showed great personality.”

Such class. Walter Zenga is a freaking legend. Now, at least if we lose some points on Wednesday, there'll be a small part of me who'd feel happy for him. I hope that Catania can regain their early season form AFTER this match.

APPIANO GENTILE - Inter vice coach Giuseppe Baresi, who will take Jos Mourinho's place in the dugout in Wednesday evening's match away to Catania, has named a 21-player squad for the Serie A Week 21 clash at the Stadio Massimino (kick-off 20:30):

    Goalkeepers:1 Francesco Toldo, 12 Julio Cesar, 22 Paolo Orlandoni;

Defenders:2 Ivan Ramiro Cordoba, 6 Maxwell, 13 Maicon, 16 Nicolas Burdisso, 24 Nelson Rivas, 39 Davide Santon.

Midfielders:4 Javier Zanetti, 5 Dejan Stankovic, 7 Luis Figo, 11 Luis Jimenez, 19 Esteban Cambiasso, 20 Sulley Muntari, 33 Amantino Mancini, 77 Ricardo Quaresma.

Strikers:8 Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 9 Julio Ricardo Cruz, 10 Adriano, 18 Hernan Crespo.

Balotelli still missing, now he's omitted from the squad for disciplinary reasons. Adriano is called? So he can be called to a match if there's an appeal pending? And if the appeal won't go through, he has played in Catania-match so he will miss the next three, meaning he will miss the derby. Nice one, Inter. You gotta be sure, the disqualification will be reduced.

    Wtf.

Knowing FIGC's hate of us and Adri's renaissance, he'll surely miss the Derby.

The CB condition is really worrying. I do not want to see Burdisso-Cordoba again but looks like we have no choice.... Atalanta memory coming back....

    JC
    Maicon-Cordoba-Burdisso-Santon
    JZ-Cambiasso-Muntari
    Deki
    Ibra-Cruz

p.s. so if you are called up for the game, it is considered "played"?
