    Inter - Reggina (22 Mar 09)

Next match is against Reggina at home. They are dead last so a win is a must here. Juventus must visit Roma too so we may be able to extend our lead.

The reverse fixture earlier this season was a tough one with us needing a last minute Cordoba goal. To be honest, I won't be surprised if this is a toughie too since we have always struggled to score at the Meazza.

I doubt Juventus will stumble against Roma, who's without Cassetti, Perrotta, Cicinho, Juan, Taddei, Motta, Aquilani, Totti in that match. Juve will grind the result.

But it doesn't matter, it's pretty certain we'll win Reggina at home. They won't attack much, so the only concern is, like it was against Torino, the counter-attacks.

They only problem is if we can score with 11 man in front of their goal line. They are just going to park their bus there and go for a 0-0 while counter attacking.

I think if we do score it will be from set pieces.

Reggina has nothing to lose in this match. They will come here to play for a 0-0, and I'm 100% they will defend with 9 players and leave 1 striker up front (around midline).

In these kind of matches the big teams always suffer a lot. It will be very hard for us, but as said, when we manage to score it will be a done job.

I hope Balotelli and Ibra will play, then I trust in scoring. For the first time this season I will be supporting Roma for 1 match, even though I doubt if they can hurt Juventus, I'm affraid not.

Give Bolzoni a chance in the last 10 minutes at least. I'm fed up with Muntari.

Hopefully we have some CB's back, i really hope are team can link up better this time, i feel like we have only two people that actually attack. I noticed we tried some new tactics against Fiorentina instead of long crosses into the area. Inter seemed very tired after the quick pass tactics, i dont think our team has the pace for it. I wan't jiminez to be given a chance in this game, but i doubt it will happen. Anyway we should win, hopefully its a comfortable lead right away.

I'd like to see us experiment with a Christmas tree formation like we did against Lecce but with different players.. i.e.

    -----------------Julio Cesar----------------
    --Maicon----Cordoba----Chivu----Maxwell-
    ------Zanetti----Cambiasso----Stankovic--
    --------------Jimenez---Mancini------------
    -----------------Ibrahimovic-----------------

I'm not entirely certain which of our CB's are fit. I think it will be Chivu and Cordoba. I also read Jimenez sprained his ankle.. I'm not sure how badly either which is why I'm including him, but at worst case scenario, I'm guessing 3 weeks out. If thats the case, I guess i'd prefer AMs to be Stankovic and Mancini with Muntari in the 3-man CM line.

    -----------------Julio Cesar----------------
    --Maicon----Cordoba----Chivu----Maxwell-
    ------Zanetti----Cambiasso----Muntari----
    ------------Stankovic---Mancini------------
    -----------------Ibrahimovic-----------------

    or

    -----------------Julio Cesar-----------------
    --Maicon----Cordoba----Chivu----Santon--
    ------Zanetti----Cambiasso----Maxwell----
    -----------Stankovic---Mancini------------
    -----------------Ibrahimovic-----------------

If we can help it.. no Figo please..

Unfortunately I do not think any Christmas tree is happening. We simply do not have the midfield to do it. Gotta stick with 2 strikers in this one otherwise we wont be able to break Reggina defense down.

Samuel is suspended. Are we getting anyone back? Matrix, Burdisso, Chivu or Cordoba?

Roma has only lost once at home though, and that was against us. I think even against a decimated Roma Juve will find it hard to get all three points. I say we'll be +9 after this match.

Yeah, and don't forget they also beat Arsenal 1-0 with pretty much the same decimated team.

I think a draw would be the most likely result.

Yeah I'm aware the chances of my hypothetical xmas tree formation happening are close to 0 but one can still hope.

I think Chivu should be ok. Some people were saying he was taken off at half-time against Fiorentina due to injury but I'm under the impression it was just precautionary. My guess is Chivu / Cordoba.
Anyway, the team was given 2 days off after the Fiorentina win so we'll see who trains and who doesn't.

We can never play with one striker. Ibra just doesn't dribble, he creates passes. We need to play with 2 strikers. Or we'll fire 3 strikers. Ibra, Balotelli and maybe we'll give a chance to Obinna.

I think Jose will field Ibra, Mario and Adriano in this game... An all out attack. We know this team is just going to defend for there lives.

The last time we tried it we won 3-0. So there goes your theory.

But they have also not played against Juventus at home.

If they are without De Rossi and Totti, true leaders of the team, I think it's very probable they will eventually lose. Vucinic, Pizarro and Baptista can't lead the team.

Fantastic, goal.com says Chivu has injured his right thigh and is out for 3 weeks.. What does that make of our CB duo, Rivas and Cambiasso?...

Figo is also out but I'm actually glad cos it means Mancini or God forbid even Jimenez will be given a much needed run out.
