Never played a save in Scotland so this will be my first attempt. Didn't realised they were relegated so curious to see if I can get them back quickly and challenge Celtic and Rangers.
I got myself one as well mate! I got Lazio from last season, tags in all. The little Card with info was cool too.

I got Jérémy Mathieu and Marco Reus for the wee figures. Brilliant, I am thinking of getting one every other month or so and making a wee colleciton, pretty cool that is.

Hearts were semi decent in Scottish football about 18 years ago haha, they aren't much these days.

Last time a team won a real trophy in Scotland other than Celtic and Rangers, Alex Ferguson was still in Aberdeen. Over 35 years ago... And let's face it, the only real trophy in Scotland is their championship.

Nice mate! I find it a fun concept for people who are playing FM a lot and don't always know which club they should take. Thinking of getting another myself in the next days. All that ''working'' from home takes his toll.

Yeah that's the biggest challenge for me. I got promoted quite easily but after that it's hard to beat those 2 teams with little money. Trying to get my youth Academy upgraded and hoping for some wonderkids.

I'm now in my third season with Inter. Agoume choose to play for Cameroon instead of France. Is there anything I can do about this as a coach? I don't want him to be gone everytime the Africa Cup is taking place.

Got bored of my Fiorentina save so I just recently started a Valencia one. I forget how fun a La Liga non-RM, Barca, Atlantic save can be. Won the copa del ray in my first season and had a bad string of games that knocked me out of 4th. Currently in my 2nd season being neck to neck with RM for 1st place.

Thank God Gaya and Soler decided to renew contracts with the club or else I'd be in big trouble. Gaya is my player with the most MVP awards, also Lee Kang-In is finally shaping up to be solid for me after having a bad 1st season.

Brehme will be pleased to hear I don't like this game. Let me clarify first! 8/10 times I dislike FM for the first 5/6 months then can't stop playing 24/7.. so it could be that.

I just can't get into it at all, I don't like anything about it this year at all. Hopefully my mind changes as usual..

Lol, why would it please me? I just said that it doesn't appeal to me. I will eventually buy it but only when its price drops to 'crap' rates.

This season was a recipe for disaster anyway. They should have just announced an update patch version for the season, just like they did with CM3 twenty years ago for completely different reasons. Or just make it a DLC for FM20.

Started a new game in Colombia with Juniors FC from Barranquilla trying to win everything in South America and than move to Europe. I like the league as you have 2 seperate league seasons so you have a fair shot of winning something. Also the youth in South America is amazing and you will find yourself a lot of new gems. The only problem I'm facing is that of clubs from Europe are interested in my players most of the times the want to leave but the money I'm getting is laughable. I sold with a lot of effort Ditta for 1M to Aston Villa (with 25% future sale clause) and I'm loaning him for 1 year but his value is now 4.4M and the same goes for my transfer of Cetré for 2M to Leicester and is now worth 6.6M.

I had real trouble getting these transfers done as I was forced to sell the players but wanted decent money. If I see their value now I should have gotten more then i've got. I'm not saying I should sell them for 10M+ but for each 3/4M would be more realistic. Anyone had these troubles when they coached in South America? Also a lot of players wanting release clauses but the transfer fee is f*ckin low. I bought Ugarte for 1.5M total and he demanded a releas clause of 2.7M while he is worth much more. It's a bit unrealistic but this also makes it a challenge because when your players play a few good matches European clubs will circle around your club as vulture.

The maximum foreign player rule is also fun because you are forced to scout Colombia day and night.

The best thing is to enforce that all over the world. That makes the game ultra challenging and unless teams spam on naturalized players, the competition is wide open. That's pretty much how I do my save in the last few versions. Slowly reducing the limits from 10 to 8 to 5 etc. Usually I stick to 5. It's already hard enough and your scouts are very stupid as they keep suggesting 9/10 foreigners even if you're capped.

I enforce that rule for almost every save I've done for the past few years now, interesting to hear I'm not alone. It's a little trickier in my Valencia save right now though, the country isn't developing the talent I've expected. The past 2 FM games have really upped how strong France youngsters and regens are while simultaneously weakening other European nationalities imo.

Yeah I always try and buy most players from the country I'm playing in. Usually target my youth system and young players. I almost never buy world class players because than it gets to easy. But now I'm only allowed 4 foreign players. I already have Valencia (Ex-Man Utd) Ugarte, Arezo and Mendez so I only can get Colombian players now. Tried to get a mix of talented players and experienced players which works fine for now. The target is to get at least 5 players playing for the national team of Colombia and improve the Youth Academy.

Unfortunately this is indeed the only way Ajax will ever mean something in European football. 2 years back they came close but of that team there are only 3/4 players who still plays for Ajax. But I think this would be good for football everywhere. For Italy, England Spain etc. Young players don't get any chance to play football in the highest league and for the development it's deadly. It would be better for football if the big countries would focus more on development of their youth players instead of buying(like Man City/Chelsea etc) 40 youth players and hoping 1 or 2 make it to the first team. It's bad for business and bad for the players if they don't reach the first team. How many players will reach full potential if they leave their home country at the age of 14/15? Only the world class players will make it and that's like only 5% of all the young players going abroad.

The biggest problem this brings is that top, rich teams, stack up on talent. Look at Manchester City. They have players that barely feature that would have been stars on other teams.

Top squads in this era (2012 and on) are significantly stronger than before. And their competition is non-existent. First off, you lose all the decent squads from Europe as Platini's law of 2009 means that crap teams will make the CL. They make it once or twice in the groups and boom, it's game over for the next decade for anyone else.
Apart from dodgy environments like Greece, (Italy), Albania and Cyprus where the target is probably to steal the trophy so that you get the CL money, in other countries it becomes inevitable as well. Croatia, Switzerland, Austria and others have no domestic competition anymore. FFP and CL money killed it. Add the fact that you can essentially have 17-20 foreigners, you can just have two squads that are stronger than your next competition's strongest lineup in these leagues.

It really needs to change back for the sake of the sport. It is not enjoyable seeing the same teams over and over again.

On FM it is even worse as the money never stops flowing for some of these leagues or teams so they only become stronger as time progresses. You see teams spending 40m on a player that they didn't even need and do not use. Then they sell him for 12m the next summer. FM also doesn't have an understanding of FFP, which means that these silly transfers take place all the time and since their transfer system is not very dynamic, these players will typically then move to a club from the same league as they get scouting boosts for that.

This is also why I cannot take seriously so called records in football these days. The difference level is stratospheric. We used to play vs Bologna or Lecce or Cagliari and we were competing in Europe as well. The difference between us and them wasn't enormous. You were not expected to win all the time. Now you look at the lineups and say "there is no way we should drop points here". You still may, but it'll be a huge surprise.

I need a new team to manage. I'm tossed up between Hamburg, Leeds, Watford, or perhaps even Arsenal. I'm already thinking Arsenal would be too easy though.

In my coventry career I scouted Gagliardini as he went on the transfer list, 1st season, January 2021.

"There are some doubts over Gagliardini's ability and there may well be better options out there."

    Coventry City, Championship, England.

This game after the latest update is driving me mad. None of my tactics are really sticking anymore and it seems the general consensus on FM forums is that strikerless tactics are a lot more efficient than tactics with strikers. I really don't want to go down that route as I try to be more realistic in my approach to the game, so I dont want to play something for the sake of breaking the game engine.

I was doing extremely well before the save being in 2nd place of my Leeds save (3rd season) then after the update I dropped to 5th. Fuck!

Starting a new game with Spurs, only played with them when Van der Vaart was playing there. I think it's a nice challenge considering Brexit so my focus will be young English players. Bringing a bit of the Ajax philosophy to England and try to let it work there. Any tips for English youth players?

I've only been signing English players when I can in my Leeds save. It's a lot harder than only signing domestic players in other leagues because the top clubs in England hoard the good players and tbh there just aren't that many solid young English players. But you're playing at Tottenham who have a good youth system and transfer budget so I think you'll be fine.

I signed Luke Thomas from Leicster and he has been really good for me so far. Jamie Shackleton as well.

If you have the transfer budget you should go for Sancho.

My saves keep disappearing when Windows updates. This never happened for years then started happening on a weekly basis. Thought I had it fixed and had a save going for about a month but now it's gone again.
