I would definately play 4-3-3 in this one...Go all out from the start and get defensive and let them come out of their area if we score.

    Yeah i would like a 4-3-3 also.

    Rest Lucio:

    Maicon-Cordoba-Samuel-Chivu/Santon
    Zanetti-Stankovic
    Sneijder
    Balotelli-Milito-Eto'o

Quaresma, Cambiasso and one of Vieira/Muntari/Motta for the second half.
Quaresma should play in away games obviously.

Give this 4-3-3 talk a bit of rest. Many people here seem to constantly underestimate these 'little' clubs and call out for all-out attack tactics! This doesn't work for us for some reason, it never has...
So I propose we play our standard 4-4-2 formation and win, rather then play 4-3-3 and draw.

I know everyone wants Balotelli to play, but this is not the way to set tactics for any game...

Maybe Milito can replace Eto'o, this is what I want to see, but I doubt Mou will do this.

    4-3-3.

Santon, Mario and Cuchu to play.

ps. No Matrix please, only if there is nothing else to do, or we play CI/easy home game.

I think it's time for Balotelli to be in the starting XI's. Also, Santon instead of Chivu, the romanian may be tired after yesterday's fight with Messi . I expect a tough match, but hope we'll win .

Any idea of Cagliari's tactics? I assume they play 10 men defense and 1 man up front chasing the ball, and midfielders joining the attack?

We should play all out attacking to start the match. Of course Inter doesn't attack well for the entire match. We are good at holding on to a lead, and increasing it through counter-attacking, so that is what I expect us to do in this match.

Quaresma playing all away matches, lol, it is so sad but true that he shouldn't play in Milan! He doesn't seem able to overcome the fans, and similarly, the fans seem unwilling to give him a 2nd (3rd, 4th...) chance.

They have used a 4-3-1-2 in their first 3 games. Fiorentina only beat them 1-0 in Firenze, but Fiorentina dominated the stat sheet:

    Fiorentina-Cagliari

    3 Shots on gol 1

It's just better not to use Quaresma. Maybe when we lead by 3 or something, and even then only on away matches. And this just to rest the better players.

There might be needed some rotation because we had this very energy-consuming match in Wednesday and next match on next Wednesday against Napoli. Napoli isn't anywhere near the same team in away matches compared to home matches but still it's pretty hectic now so rotation should be used. Now or against Napoli. Balotelli, Cordoba, Santon, Vieira, Muntari should start in other of these two matches.

It's always tough against Cagliari away from home, not really a place to experiment.

I dont think we should start Cambiasso. He should come on as a sub later and Muntari should not start either.
Still going with Samuel-Lucio pair but if they are tired we can always play Cordoba or Matrix.

    Exactly.

I hope no one has forgotten, but we had the inferior head to head record against Cagliari which is quite embarrassing really. We were lucky to draw 1-1 at home then lost 2-1 away.

I'd like Samuel and Lucio to rest after the Barcelona match, and see Balotelli start.

Sneijder needs as much playing time as possible to integrate into the team, he was poor against Barcelona.

Replace the 2 X's with any 2 out of Motta, Vieira and Stankovic.

Some players would need a rest after the trying Barca game. Chivu and Eto'o may get a rest. Muntari definitely won't figure after the midweek horror show. I think Mario and Santon will start this game.

I see Mourinho fielding his best players and Cambi getting some minutes. I don't think he will rest anyone... This is Mourinho. Santon might get a start though...

I agree,Mou doesnt usually accept fatigue as an excuse even though i think some players should be rested.I think we might have a midweek game aswell.

We have napoli midweek. He may use subs earlier and he does tend to be carefull with chivu but the rest will play.

I would like to see more of Krhin. I think he will become a great footballer, maybe even the occasional starter next year. For this match and every other for that matter, I believe that he will start on the bench.

    How's Arnautovic coming along btw?
