Who do you predict will qualify for the 2nd round? Here are my predictions (Group leader first):

    Group A: Liverpool, Monaco
    Group B: Real Madrid, Roma
    Group C: Juventus, Bayern
    Group D: Man Utd, Lyon

The most interesting match for me is the Roma - Real Madrid game by far. Roma has a pool of talented yet not famous players like Matteo Ferarri, Mido and Antonio Cassano. Real Madrid has without a shadow of a doubt the best line-up on paper. This is a rematch from 02/03 Champions' League, I believe.

Fabio you've been very generous with Roma, Juve and Liverpool, and very harsh on Ajax, Deportivo and Dinamo Kiev, IMO

The Roma fiasco is ridiculous, the second half was abandoned because a fan threw a missile at the ref. I really hope Dynamo get the three points, it would be unfiair for them to replay the game as they were clearly in a better position with a 1-0 lead and Roma down to 10 men.

B.Leverkusen beat Real 3-0!!! This is a great result for them and for football fans everywhere (except Real ones of course). Looks like Real are carrying on this year where they left off in the last campaign, with humiliation

Damn Romani, I'm ashamed to be Italian in nights like this. After the disaster during the derby last year, they do this. It was probably a lighter that they threw from the stands. They were 1-0 after a wonderful free-kick by Dinamo, and Mexes got sent off AFTER the ref whistled the end of the first half because he kicked an opponents on the ground.

Shame on them. I hope the get a 3-0 defeat and the Olimpico suspended for 5 european games. VERGOGNA!

Well, it sure ainīt the first time the Roma fans have disgraced themselves during the last 12 months.

I watched the Juve game. Cannavaro being the best player on the field. Gosh, arenīt I surprised?

The gobbi won 1-0 at the Amsterdam arena. A great result, no doubt about it. Nedved scored the winner, a wonderful goal, with a soft touch.

Juve looks very solid, very defensive though. Del Piero started very low and Ibrahimovic was coming back a lot as well. Camoranesi was a disaster, he lost so many balls I lost count, he was terrible.

Juve is a bit predictable in attack, the always go with Zambrotta on the left, pass to Del Piero, back to Zambrotta, cross. They did this move at least 4 times tonight.

Canna was ok. Thuram played very well. Emerson didn't impress me at all.

Nedved went out with an injury, the Sky Sport commentator said he could be serious.

Juve started the season very well, two great away victories. They have a full squad at the moment though. We'll see how they will deal with injuries (especially if Nedved is injured, they don't have a replacement for him) and if they can keep this up. I foresee Juve getting many 0-0 draws this season if they play like this.

They play a very physical football as well. That would make injuries more frequent.

Yeah, I forgot about the decisive match against Milan, when Roma fans threw flares at the player during the 2nd half.

Jimmy Canna was ok but he didn't do anything special, did he? Tidy but nothing more. Thuram was better than him I think.

I question that. He was confused at times and had bad positioning at some through balls etc and inside the penalty area.
To win something with Inter would be five times more satisfying than winning something with Juventus.

Again, the Romanisti have embarassed themselves. Throwing a lighter onto the field, and having the bad luck to have actually come into contact with the referee has left their Champions League hopes in jeopardy. They'll probably be suspended from the CL for a few games, which in any case, means they will already be knocked out. And Italia loses one CL contender just after the first round of games. How sad.

well, yeah.. I woke up this morning and chek channel4.com on my pda,
reading real was trashed by leverkusen is a joy..

too bad, juventus could win in amsterdam...

roma looks like in deep shit right now, but bad things for these teams could lead to greatness just like arsenal last season after we trashed them..

but real is not arsenal, so they will be sinking deeper and deeper..
