    2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup

Since we have a bunch of youth players in this competition, I thought we should open a thread.

Coutinho played 87 minutes in Brazil's 3-2 win over Japan, getting a beautiful 30 yard through ball assist in the process.

Italy had four of our youth players in the squad starting against Algeria: 2 NATALINO, 6 CRISETIG, 11 DELL'AGNELLO, 19 FOSSATI

Dell'Agnello played 59 minutes, while the other 3 played the full 90 mins. Italy won the game 1-0, but none of our guys scored...anybody see this game and can comment on their performances?

Oh I cant BELIEVE that this thread didnt exist... I was looking for it!

About the game, Fossati was massive, he is so good at getting forward with the ball and he always knows where his teammates are and how to pass them. The Iniesta comparison was certainly not exaggerated

Crisetig had a more defensive outlook and didnt do too well in the beginning, he wasted lots of passes. But in the second half he was much better and he made a brilliant assist to the goal!

Natalino was OK, wasnt too involved in attack as most of the plays were set up by Fossati on the other side of the pitch.

Dell'Agnello was OK, he didn't have much to do in the first 45 mins as the play was almost always on the midfield without many chances. He impressed me with his targetplaying though, I thought he was an Eto'o type of striker, but he won lots of header duels and flicked the ball on to Milans striker Beretta. Both strikers were subbed in the second half.

Coutinho will play Mexico in about 5 hours!

I am pissed Colombia's star Edwin Cardona got injured and is out for a month a week before the fing comp..... guy was sick but o well...

Brazil has a great striker will something. At this age the players usually score weird goals but that kid looks special maybe the next Pato of Milan but his team wants fing 25 million euro for him thats insane

All 4 of the kids from Inter started for Italy last game

Apparently you can watch the games for free at FIFA.com I'm trying to do so but it didn't work during U-20 World Cup so probably won't work now. Probably it's the same old Mac problem.

First of all i will propose that we move this thread in the match thread or the youth team one because people don't know about it's existance because it seems strange to me that people don't talk about it when we have our players over there and espn trasmits it for free at least in europe.
As for the tournement i'm enjoying our kids. If there is smth sure is that at least one of the trio coutinho , fossati , crisetig will become valuable for our team in the future.
I won't talk about coutinho in here but i want to underline the great creativity of fossati . He remembers me of smn named pirlo. He has a great vision of the game , great positioning and great in place dribbling it looks exatly like pirlo while crisetig is a more dinamic type of player with a great passing ability too and more one on one confidence.
As for natalino i honestly think that he won't have a future at inter but maybe smn else in serie B for start and than in a low profile team of serie A maybe.
As for dell agnello i'm disapointed really , i expected smth more from him but until now i've seen only a good header ability and nothing else. Anyway i trust in him and maybe he isn't in his best form right now....

here in Panama you don't get that signal, so I can't comment

so we have a future Pirlo coming? Deep laying midfielder, or as his old times? A natural attacking midfielder?

The match is just about over...

Italy is winning 2-1 in the 90th minute. Italy saved a PK and their goalscorers were Beretta and Iemmello.

Didn't catch the game, how did our boys do??

The Match is over.. Natalino, crisetig and Fosatti played. crisetig for 60 min and the other 2 the whole Match. They Played Great And Crisetig is like a young pirlo, while Fossati wooow 4 Me Man of the Match. He was everywhere on the pitch. His passing, driblling, crosses is amazing for 17 year old. Natalino did great too at the Right-Back Not a single Mistake.. Inter have really good upcoming players. And Now italy will meet either Swizerland or Germany. I hope they meet Germany so they can take Revenge from the Euro.

What an amazing comeback from Colombia! They were down 2-0 and then scored 3 goals in the last 27 minutes, including 2 in the last 2 minutes!

    WOW!
