    Top 50 greatest Inter players

Dont know if this article has been posted before (it is a year old, so please delete thread if it has or move if its not in the right location). I found this to be an interesting read of all our former and present legends as i would call them. Im sure a few of you will find it a good read.

    http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/spo...cle5921988.ece

Do you think everyone is deserving on this list, and or can you think of anyone missing that should be there instead?

    14. Benito Lorenzi (1947-1958)

When the referee whistled for a controversial penalty against Inter in a Milan derby, he went to the substitutes' bench, retrieved a lemon and, with the match official distracted, hid it under the ball which had been placed on the penalty spot. When Milan took the penalty, the lemon acted as a divot and the ball sailed over the crossbar.

I also had a bit of a laugh at that one too Luka, I wonder if Lorenzi would have got any form of punishment from the League??

When it comes to those last four players on that list I think anyone of them could have been number 1, but at the end of the day IMO I would have put it that way also.

Great find, I was thinking of starting a Top 10 best Inter players thread but apparently there's already an article that goes even deeper

The list is probably accurate enough. I would say that Andreas Brohme and Lotthar Matthaus are quite low on that list for what they offered.
Cordoba is definitely not better than any of the defenders mentioned, but in our eyes he's a legend. I'm a great fan of Toldo, but he was no better than Pagliuca, and definitely no better than Zenga. He would be the third keeper if there was one I'd say. Adriano, no way, I'm sorry. Just had 2 good years with us.
And since you will tell me that Ronaldo was the same, it has almost no similiarities, although having an Adriano in his prime now would have been amazing(and perhaps then he could make such a list)

I'm quite disappointed that Diego Simeone and Youri Djorkaeff aren't included, but they didn't win much(or anything) during their time, and I noticed that most of the players were either from Herrera's Inter, or part of dominant teams. That's why we have Cambiasso and Stankovic instead of two greater players in Simeone and Djorkaeff.

Karl Heinz "Kalle" Rummenigge is there and he spent the waning years of his career at the club, and was always injured. Adriano scored 79 goals for us and was our second most prolific scorer in the last decade. For some reason people seem to overlook this in favor remembering his problems.

Says the guy who hates Ibra, because he left us with 50mil. for kissing another jersey.

Adri is a bigger traitor than Ibra, because we did everything to revive him, sent him to Brazil on a six month playing holiday and paid his wages when he was out drinking in clubs...... and says he woudnt mind playing for Meelan.

I don't Ibra for kissing the badge I hate Ibra for a whole bunch of other shit he did. And didn't Adriano decline his wages whilst he played for Sao Pablo? AND if Meelan won everything and offered Zlatan a free ride to a UCL like Barca did he would join them without thought... Zlatan did that to his beloved Juve, which he supported as a child, and you think he wouldn't have done the same to us?

If Adriano was a traitor he would be in Europe right now making twice as much he is now at a big club but as things stand he's in Brazil and showing no intent of returning to Europe. That alone shows that him being away from his family could have been part of the problem. He could have still been here earning 5 million a year here or possibly at Milan. (If these clowns were going to take Mancini off our hands, you honestly think Galliani wouldn't have hopped on the chance to sign a player he's dreamed about for years?) But he's playing in a much lesser league, NOT taking any cheap shots at his past team or fans.

Ibra left us with a wad of cash and Eto'o and whatever but weren't we rumored to have rejected bids from Madrid higher than Ibra's fee for Adriano? You don't see any players on this team saying anything negative about Adriano and some even wore his jersey in our Scudetto celebrations. On the other hand more than 3 players have said something not positive about Ibra and so far NONE of the players have shown any signs that they miss the Swede often redirecting questions related to him in a positive reference to Diego and Samu.

If Adriano wanted to hurt Inter he could do it with ease. Especially right now, being Brazil's top scorer and on the Brazilian NT. He simply needs to have a PR and say he wants to leave his club and sign for Milan. Then nothing would stop him from joining the club. But that's not happened yet is it? So I fail to see where your traitor label of Adriano comes from?

(Disclaimer: This is terribly written and jumbled up all over the place but please excuse this. )

That list is a farce. Zanetti @ 9!? Ronaldo better than Deki & Cambi. Bah humbug, just some typical clueless English article pretending they know-it-all.

This is the list based on "players achievement", and is similar to the idea of people, who for example still value Vieri as grande Inter.

There is close to no interista who would put Ronaldo in that list. That is the clear sign on what basis this list was made.

And what position should Zanetti be? Anything in the Top 10 is justified, Top 15 is somewhat acceptable, but he's not Top 5 material with the likes of Meazza, Facchetti, Mazzola, Corso, Luis Suarez(greatest Spanish player ever) and Bergomi.

    EDIT:

The 10 BEST players to have played for Inter(despite performance etc) for me are:
    1) Ronaldo
    2) Giuseppe Meazza
    3) Giaccinto Facchetti
    4) Lothar Matthaus
    5) Sandro Mazzola
    6) Luis Suarez
    7) Roberto Baggio
    8) Mario Corso
    9) Giuseppe Bergomi
    10) Javier Zanetti

Not disputting that but for me meazza number 2 as all time great interisti behind fachetti. Fachetti changed the way fullbacks operated and is still rated as one if not the best fullbacks of all time. Throw in what he contributed to inter of the field and there is no contest.
