I am having some weird problem….
My computer automatically restarts in few minutes time (after I turn on my comp) ….
It says: that the computer will restart in 1 minute time …. And that’s it …
Can anyone help me on this … step by step plzzz…. And don’t call me in msn, coz u never know when the computer restarts again …..
I´ve had this problem too. For me it´s either because it´s too hot in my room or because of all the viruses that´s being sent to my computer and the computer automatically shuts down because of that.
I suggest you do this if it´s the same reason your computer does it as mine:
1. Make sure your room is not too warm.
2. Get a good anti virus programme to take care of all sorts of hacking against you.

It's a virus that re-starts your computer giving you a minute. I've had it twice before. No reason to panic, it can easily be taken care of.
Just go to your local technology store and buy an anti-virus CD since the virus won't be giving you enough time to download one online.

I think it's likely to be the My Doom virus.

And I do have norton anti virus (15 day trial), but nothin seems to work.
Last time, I had in my other computer, the technician did something (by clicking on the option or the opposite in some options folder). Sadly, when I asked that technician how to do it, that guy told me that it's technical stuff ... he didn't try to tell me, may be coz I wudn't call him next time for repairing computer ....
Anyway, it worked that time, and it had nothin to do with virus...

The My Doom virus is a real b**ch.
I have Norton Antivirus installed on my laptop. When I bought a new computer some months ago, I installed Norton on it straight away. Then I connected to the net to update the virus definitions, and guess what: I was infected by the My Doom virus straight away! My comp was restarting every 10 minutes.
To get rid of it, you'll need to:
1) Have a antivirus program installed with definitions up to date.
2) Download any Windows update that is available.
3) Go to www.microsoft.com and download the patch for My Doom virus.
4) Use the removal tool for My Doom (you can find it at http://www.symantec.com
Nowadays you really must have an antivirus and a firewall. You should also get the Windows updates regularly, and run disk clean-up. It's good maintenance for you pc.

Guys, what's a good anti-virus that I could download on the internet? I really need to start taking better care of my PC in case I get a virus.

I would recommend Symantec's Norton Internet Security 2005

I use to have this virus the only way i got rid of it was getting Blaster Worm Removal from microsoft.

Oh yeah, and here's some more advice. Next time you see a kid who looks kinda nerdy like a hacker, curse him out and make sure to hurt his feelings so he won't infect any new computers!
Just kidding, if he's infecting computers and you threaten him, he might get destructive, so negotiate with him using phrases like, "You've got so much to live for!"

PS Watch out for spyware too, "spybot" and "spyware blaster" should clean you up, just search for them and don't pay a dime, they're free...
