I was surprised to see we didn't have a thread dedicated to such a major part of the game.

I'm thinking we could use this to discuss our favorites of years past, one's being built, one's for cup finals, and the rest.

I'll start it off. What's your favorite World Cup venue? I love Durban.

I was actually quitet impressed by the Stadiums at South Africa.I remember seeing a couple before the world cup and thinking they didnt look good but everything i saw since was amazing looking. They did a good job there, and to think lots of officials were complaining about them not being ready.Everything seems going fluently right now and the only major problems with this WC have nothing to do with the organizers...Ok maybe the Vuvezela but the crappy things about this WC (the ball and the performances,or lack thereof) isnt SA fault. Its either Addidas,FIFA,or the teams.

Back to the topic though we need some pics in here..

My personal favorite is soccer city. Really fantastic ground. Biggest plus is its easy to get out of. Loftus at pretoria takes ages to get out of after the game.

What's the outside made of? It's supposed to look like a fiery pot or something along those lines.

Just got back from the New Meadowlands Stadium (Brazil-USA). Totally underwhelming. Very little change from the old Giants Stadium.

Nope. It's like you took the old Giants Stadium, took away the charm, turned everything gray, and replaced the spirals with congested ramps. Supposedly the sight lines are better, but the only improvement I saw was the addition of 4 huge screens, which pale in comparison to the ones in Dallas. It's pathetic, and that's coming from a Giants fan.

I am also a Giants fan and was looking forward to watching a game in the new stadium...seems like I am going to be disappointed when I get there...

I heard from a bunch of people that went to the Mexico-Ecuador game that it was nothing special, but I didn't believe it. It was quite the expensive lesson to learn.

I USED to go ON that WEBSITE OFTEN and roam around all the STADIUMS. SOME amazing buildings HAVE BEEN MADE. SOME very creative BRAINS out there in the CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY.

I use my CREATIVE SIDE to draw plans ON HOW to GET into girls panties in NIGHTCLUBS, I draw the PLANS with LESS CAPACITY than ALL of them stadiums.

Finally, after years of work Besiktas could get the permission of rebuilding the stadium as of today! It was very hard to get that permission because of the stadiums location, which made it one of the 10 best stadiums in the World... Just next of our stadium you can see Dolmabahce Palace, the place where Atatürk lived and gave his last breath in.

    BJK Inonu Stadium currently:

Inonu Stadium's capacity is currently 32.500, and with new plan it will probably be increased to 42.000. We are not allowed to increase it more due to certain (location and historical sight around) reasons...

The new design hasn't been decided yet, but there is a project our board published 2 years ago. It's not 100% yet though, but you can see it here:

The lighting will be similar to Allianz-Arena, it will be white&black with our logo and a black eagle on top of it when we are playing, and the red lighting with Turkish Flag when the national team is playing. CARSI wants "Seref Bey Stadium" as the new stadiums name, but the name is not certain yet either. (Seref Bey is the founder of the club in the year of 1903)

The information of new stadium will be certain soon and i will keep here updated, and the construction will begin in May 2011.
