    Instant Replay

England-Germany makes me think some sort of technological assistance is a necessity in the game. Personally, I think going to watch videos like they do in football and baseball would be awful. That being said, a sensor in the ball and goalline that alerts the referee of a goal would be perfect. Takes no time at all, and assures perfect calls as far as goals go. Offsides is still up for debate.

We need technology for at least the goal line decision. Of course this isn't just sep decision the international laws board(can't remember exact name) has a big say and guess who is one of the permanent members. Yeah you guess right england and they objected to any use of technology a few months ago.

Their should be one challenge at least by the team...I dont like stopping the game but i would hate unfair calls too.It will probably take less than some of the time wasting shinanigans players put us through.

Wow. Two horrible calls in one day. Ian Darke on ESPN brought up a good point. Rather than the referees getting together to talk, which takes at least 30 seconds, why not have someone (5th official?) looking at replays and telling the ref through his headset the correct call. On goals only. It would take no time at all.

yup, i was thinking that, had a chat with a friend of mine about the same thing. Why not havin't fifth ref, someone from FIFA that will look replays and tell the ref the truth.. As i said, these kind of mistakes runes the beauty of the world cup ffs..

Well we do need some dramas and controversies in the game. Unless you're Inter and playing against Milan/Juve/Roma.

But of course, it's ridiculous that this is not done yet. I think all major sports has implemented the technology bar football?

Soccer needs a a challenge system whereby the managers can have 2 or 3 challenges a game. It works so well in the NFL and I think it would work in Soccer too. All the argument about it slowing the game down is nonsense, when there is a corner or throw in the game can be stopped for 30 seconds, looking at a replay wouldn't take too much longer than that. If the right decision is made and teams aren't at the end of a major injustice then I think no-one can argue with the replay system.

Works perfectly at Wimbledon too. In fact it adds to the enjoyment of the occasion. Can't believe that I was watching Justine Henin v Kim Clijsters today and both were able to call for questionable decisions to be reviewed and yet in football, a much bigger spectator and participator sport than tennis, it is not possible.

i dont think they should have challanges it should be where refs constantly look at tv after playes or dissallowed goals to see if it was the right calls that way plays wont be stopped.

FIFA does not want that as they are corrupted. They want to be able to use such "errors" to their advantage

Hard to influence matches with proof. So corrupt. Wonder if the next Pres. of FIFA would change things.

That would be the way to go. This is nothing that would destroy the game in any way. How often is it hard to tell it the ball was in or not? Once per week maybe (and that sounds like a high number). When is happens, just let some official on the side look at the replay and everything is fine.

I don't think we have to wait to much longer before this is introduced. In today's football with all the money that's involved one single goal can have huge consequences. To miss out on a World Cup, a Champions League-spot or whatever because of a goal who wasn't in is brutal.

I think the non-use of Instant replay has been a reason why Americans dislike the sport of association football. They find it lame everything is called on the spot.

no its the lack of money and praise it gets. soccer here is looked over or not praised enough or looked at as an important sport. they think the yank sports are better.

I don't think money has much to do with it. The NASL (specifically the Cosmos and LA Aztecs) had very rich ownership and team salaries just under $2 million, and we all know how that worked out.
