I don't know.. He's one of my favorite Italian players, but he is also a bit of a pussy. Not really a guy you should trust as a DM next to Cuchu in a 4-2-3-1.
But he's better than nothing, I suppose. We are, believe it or not, in a lack of CM's.

He reminds me a bit of Pirlo. I love the fact he's younger than any of the options we've heard to this point

Yeah, Montolivo is a bit too soft perhaps. Think about him and Cambiasso fighting against likes of Essien, Lampard, Mascherano. Personally I love the player though.

He's an awesome passer and is what opens the midfield, but he's the type of guy that if the opponent next to him falls he'll look back to see if he's ok... kind of nice of him, but in football everyone needs to be a little dirty. And when he fouls he makes really obvious it's his fault and easily gets booked for what players like samuel consider normal xD. But as I already said in other posts he's great and he can partner with sneijder way better than zanetti/motta imo.

how about not playing him then? Motta is still there, Mariga is there... plus, with his arrival we would often play formation like against atletico, with cambiasso as dm, montolivo and motta where Deki and Cambi did 2 days ago

Are you sure? I haven't seen predictions of his recovery time.

If so, then we need a midfielder.

We won't get him, we're being way too cheap this season. He'll cost like 15-20M, we won't spend that. Our mercato is done...sadly.

Montolivo is a good distributor of the ball and he's got a great shot, ya I'll agree that he isn't the most physical player but I'm in.
English journalist: Mr. Mourinho, how does Italian football differ from English football.

Mourinho to Italian journalist: what's the population of Italy?

    Italian journalist: roughly 60 million

Mourinho to English journalist: there are roughly 60 million coaches in Italy.

Has winning the UCL turned us into the cheap bastards that Milan were where we now sell quality players and replace them with half assed solutions ala Sculli for Mario? Huntelaar for Kaka?

We've sold Balotelli and have been heavily rumored to replace him with Sculli.

But so far we've done nothing and have had a horrible transfer campaign. We have the oldest starting XI with the highest payroll in Italy. We've not gotten rid of the proper dead weight only the "useful" ones like Burdisso and Obinna.
Muntari, Mancini, Rivas, Materazzi, Suazo are still here earning like 25 million euros this year (after taxes). We need to stop signing these useless players and giving them such exorbitant salaries which makes it impossible to offload them. We also should never have extended Materazzi and should not even think about doing the same for Cordoba.
