What happens to the match jerseys when they come off?

what does inter do with the used/scuffed/stained jerseys that have already been played in?
i'm doubting mr. moratti collects them for laundry, ha

are they all given away? stashed away for future ebay auction$?

hopefully, this question hasn't been asked/answered already to upset the forum police

As far as I'm aware, so long as they aren't badly damaged they'll be washed and reused. The ones that are damaged are thrown into the rubbish I'd think.

They are usually exchanged with players of the other teams. Many of them are auctioned off. I can almost guarantee that the jerseys are not reused after a match...

Capitano always has an auction for this kind of stuff on eBay:

Lol I think the messier the shirt, the better because then you know it's authentic like for example if I get Materazzi's shirt I want some of Ibra's blood on it.

    Thank you.

The prices are actually less than I expected when I clicked the link.

Certainly the Zanetti kit which he wore for the Mazembe match is worth more than 400 dollars!

On topic, I think notable players usually exchange kits and if they don't they're either auctioned or kept.

Big clubs give up to 2 kits per match (one for each half, I'm not sure if more)

Small clubs usually reuse them, however.

How come Pandev's shirt is worth more than Pupi's with the autograph?! As well as the Pupi's jersey from Inter-Napoli is currently at almost 600$ !

Makes me wonder if I'll bid for the CWC one...

Edit: got it. The first jersey from CWC has only been prepared but not worn. Inter-Napoli's and Pandev's have been worn, hence the price difference

I was going to say it was the Macedonian effect, but I think your explanation is more valid

After my wedding and I am settled in my new house and get a raise, I will be buying stuff from that auction on a monthly basis!

Yeah I also thought about the Macedonian effect before figuring it out

I am so very tempted but I need to slow down on the spending a bit (moving in, taxes, collector jersey, etc...)

I think in cases where the players themselves dont take them home to offer to friens/family etc; most of them go to charity (sale & charity) Basically sent back to NIKE to re-cycle. That is some of what we buy from the official stores. The proceeds, I beleive are typically sent to some charitable organization or so...

I say so based on what I heard about Arsenal a few years back. Apparently Adebayor asked them after a game, to contribute their kits so he could send to an organization he has in Africa & Van Persie refused to...

Well the auctions are to help raise funds for charity... at least for the PUPI Foundation
