Hello Interfriends,

With Juventus losing yesterday it was the perfect moment to make the leap of quality and come back into the Scudetto race for Inter. The gap could have been reduced to 9 points, but after yet another 2-2 draw against Parma today, Inter is still to far back to start dreaming.

It must be said that this team never gives up as Inter played with 10 men for almost an hour and Parma had a 2 goal lead going into the last 15 minutes. It seemed another great come back was on the cards but sometimes we must admit that it was just not meant to be.

We could have won this game, infact we deserved to win this game. Unfortunatly our defensive lapses creeped back today as we allowed Parma two weak goals, but it was Seba Frey who wins the man of the match award as he made save after save to keep Inter out. Despite being a man down Inter could have easily scored 5 goals if it was not for the Parma keeper.

Iam too exahusted to get into great detail of the match so lets just say that the miracle was not meant to be. Inter controlled most of the match, they were let down by poor defending on counter-attacks which lead to Parma hitting a post, and then Materazzi saves a goal with his hand on the goaline to give Parma a penalty and red card for himself, giving Parma 1-0 lead at the half.

Gilardino gets the second goal 15 mintues into the second as he scores a great overhead volley to make it 2-0. As always it seemed Inter were doomed but they never gave up and came back for the draw. Cordoba gets one back heading in a Mijhalovic free kick with under 15 minutes to play.

Its Cordoba again who wins a penalty for Inter as he is brought down during a corner kick and Vieri scores to make it 2-2 and scores his 100th goal. The game should have been won from that point as Vieri missed probably the easist chance of his career.

Adriano came on for the final minutes and supplied Vieri a cut back across the goal line. Vieri however missed the easy tap in only inches from the goal as the ball goes under his foot. I would have bet the mortgage on Vieri scoring but again it was not meant to be, and that miss proves it. I still cannot believe he missed. All he had to do was sneeze at the ball and it would have crossed the line!

Anyway Inter fail to win and close the gap to under 10 points but we can still applaude the squad for their heart and grit. Lets hope that it carries forward into the Champions League and that Juve and Milan slip up a few more times and give us another chance to come back into the race.
