Actually, that handsign is a Serb (or mainly Christian) one. Unless i am mistaken, it signifies the Holy Trinity in Christianity. I have seen Catholics who have used those three fingers to make the sign of the cross in Church in the past.

    So what?
Obviously the goal record should be agreed with by all and updated by an authoritative organization---Serie A.
    So,please see this below:

    http://www.lega-calcio.it/eng/atim_dicembre.shtml

    Inter - Messina
    5 - 0 03' p.t. Adriano (Inter)
    14' p.t. Adriano (Inter)
    36' p.t. Adriano (Inter)

    11' s.t. Eleftheropulos aut. (Messina)

    39' s.t.. Vieri (Inter)

    Do you know www.lega-calcio.it?
Do you know for who www.lega-calcio.it stands?
Ponder these two above and you find the answer to your question mentioned in your post.

This will be almost impossible but as long as the topic doesn't discuss any politics, I will leave it open. Once Serbs/Albanians/Croats whoever corrupt it yet again with political stuff, the management will take serious actions.

My first reaction to the sign was that I thought it was his 3rd or 8th or 13th goal against Lazio. I had always counted the 4th goal we scored against Messina as his goal and that would made his first goal against Roma his 4th of the season so I didn't think of it that way.

Once again, for the umpteenth time, if you wanna discuss that sign leave it political-free and discuss political stuff in the appropriate forum. There has been enough politics spilling to other forums already. Thank you very much.

Btw, does the handsign he showed Adriano signifies anything? I know that it's some sort of game he took with Adriano but I have never seen that sign before in any game. The common rocks, scissors, papers game signs are a fist, hands spread out like you were slapping or the 'V' sign so it's definitely not rocks, scissors, papers.

Then you guys are wrong. Because a simply 'V' sign looks much more like a pair of scissors compared to a 'V' sign plus a thumb.

Anyway, that must be the reason why he showed that 3 finger sign to Adriano. I just thought of it and that could also be the reason why he showed it to the crowd after he score, that the scissors brought him and Inter a goal.

this is the traditional Serb sign. It's offensive to Croatians.

In Australia a player of Serb-descent playing against a club (with fans primarily of Croatian descent) made this sign and he was in deep trouble because of it, now he doesn't even play against that club any more!

For the Australians here... yes, I'm referring to Bobby Despotovski.

Frisko, after all these months, you still havenīt understood which sequence it was?

It was after he scored both his goals, and not when he and Adriano decided who to take the freekick.

It's actually a non-offensive Serbian handsign. However, some people see it as a symbol of Serbian nationalistic pride and take offence to that. It actually represents the Holy Trinity in the Orthodox Church.

But i do understand that years of conditioning has brought about negative reactions to such a seemingly innocent hand gesture.

I guess it's the same as the swastika. Originally, it is a sankrist sign and it was also used by many ancient cultures. But its association with nazism has rendered it an offensive symbol.
