So what happens post-season if we win the league and the financial situation still hasn't been resolved, how fucked are we going to be? Assuming Conte stays of course because if he leaves I'm sure it'll be an even worse situation.

Off the top of my head we need a starting LWB, we can hopefully bring back Dimarco but thats not the kind of upgrade we need, like Gosens would be.

We need another striker, there's a chance we can get Aguero on a free but his wages would probably be insane...and we're having problems paying the current wage bill as it is.

Vice-Brozovic. Locatelli would be a quality signing but he wouldn't be cheap and is probably not even on the table due to that alone.

We need 1 if not 2 backup CBs, no one special but hopefully consistent at least.

It seems to me that quite a bit of work needs to be done but the real issue is whether or not we can get anything done this summer. I'm a bit worried...and hopefully we can finish paying RM for Hakimi.

If we are still in financial deepshit, I suspect Inter will shed excess weight off the wage bill. Which means getting rid of the big salaries and not critical or ageing players like Sanchez, Vidal, Eriksen, Nainggolan, Perisic, Handanovic, Young, Kolarov, Vecino, etc as many as we can get rid off, even if it comes with a loss. The idea should be to cut a third off our wage bill, bring it below 100m. On top of that, at least 1 big money sale of our stars to raise transfer funds, prime candidates being Lukaku, De Vrij or Hakimi due to their wages. At which point, Conte will probably rage quit. Then we fill the positions with younger, lower wage talents. And hopefully aim for top 4.

If our financial position doesn't improve, and we are smart about it, thats what we should do. It will take us like 2 years behind Milan in the cycle, but thats how the shit goes.

Hopefully some sugar daddy will come to our rescue before then and we can continue to live in this dream for a while longer.

Handa isn’t getting a better offer than us.

I can see us giving him a new contract with lower wages and trying that with other players. He also doesn’t make the money that some of our other players do

Skinniar or Lukaku will be sacrificed hopefully not both. Getting rid of Sanchez, Vidal wages won’t be as easy as some think. We have been dreadful in getting rid of players.

Hopefully Eriksen plays well the rest of the season and can get a decent amount so we don’t have to sell a better starter. To me he is the worst after Persic. Unless he willing to take a pay cut which players aren’t

I believe the financial situation will be more or less resolved a lot sooner than the end of the season. At least in the short term. It's reported Suning need to find 250m till the end of March in order for Inter to play in Europe. So one way or another we're gonna have news soon.

If Suning stay, Conte will certainly stay as well unless he resigns. As for the transfer market, i don't think we will sell any of our starters unless we receive an ofeer that is too good to refuse. But we will probably have a repeat of last summer with 0 transfer budget. This is what i am expecting:

    - Defence: Kolarov will certainly leave and we will either bring back Vanheusden (gentleman agreement) or get Maksimovic for free. There are rumours about a promising Brugge cb, Kossounou, from unrealiable sources but i don't think there's anything to it.

    - Left Wing: Young will certainly be gone and he will probably be replaced from Dimarco. Yesterday i expressed the opinion we need someone better than Perisic as a starter but sadly it's unrealistic under our current financial situation

We also need a vice Brozovic and a vice Lukaku but i believe these moves will depend on our (in)ability to offload deadwood and raise funds. Once again we have plenty:

    - Dalbert
    - Lazaro (Gladbach SD confirmed he's on a dry loan)
    - Joao Mario
    - Nainggolan
    - Vecino

We also need to figure out what we're gonna do with Sensi.

P.S.: If we are to sell a starter under our current management i believe it's gonna be Brozovic. Even though his contract expires in 2022 there are no rumours about his extension since the pandemic started. Nada.

P.S. 1: Aguero could be an option for Inter only if they sell Lautaro. Else it isn't happening for so many reasons.

Kun is one of my all time favs, so i'd be happy to get him. He doesn't play, but it's not like it's Sensi issue. He had some hamstring problems few months ago, and just when he got back, he got corona. He was out for more than a month with Corona, and he hasn't played since. He is on the bench for the last 5-6 games.

Nothing against Kun but Sensi's situation is fucked up, I've never seen something like that and whoever you compare with Sensi will look good.

Kun is always injured, I haven't seen a season where he wasn't injured and now with his age that won't get any better.

Kun may have injured multiple times but he was still one of manchester city top scorers. He played 32 games and scored 23 last season.

Surely Kun and similar plays are out of our reach financially no? I honestly don't know this, just asking/wondering.

Agreed, Kun would be amazing for us injuries or non because he scores when he plays, although he does have "Martinez qualities" ie. Hat trick every now and then not many goal per games. Or at least thats how my fantasy football percieves it haha

At Manchester City he makes less than either Alexis Sanchez or Arturo Vidal make at Inter.
He costs them slightly more due to tax.

Definitely affordable unless some PSG team is going to give him a 50% salary increase like we gave Lukaku, which I doubt we'd readily do for Aguero.

A 5-6m net deal with guarantees that he'll be an important part of the rotation would do the trick under normal circumstances, assuming he's willing to leave. It's pretty much what he's making now. He makes something like 6-7m now, give or take with the fx fluctuation.

De Bruyne on the other hand makes 10m net. Lukaku makes 9m in comparison and Eriksen should be at around 8.5m. Next in line is Sanchez with 7m and iirc Vidal makes 6.5m or 7m as well.

All figures used are in euros.

No to Aguero. I just can't trust another injury prone player at a position we clearly need somebody that isn't injury prone.

    Messi

That also depends on if Conte stays. If he does, I dont think Inter even bothers to go after Messi. Whether Conte stays or leaves I think we need to get Belotti.

A lot might happen in this summer and we got to wait and see what will be the fate of Lautaro and Lukaku. Considering the club financial situation and the need to offload several players, I think our strikers are very good candidates to get sold in order to get a big bucks.

If we didn't have Sanchez, Aguero would make sense. But having 4 forwards of that calibre does not make sense.

They could play together honestly. Depends on the system.

The thing is, we cannot really plan ahead with Bosman deals as we are riddled with uncertainty.

We do not know if we'll have the funds for any moves.
Marotta doesn't know if he'll have the job. Even if he does, he doesn't know if the funds will be there and he cannot free anything more than what is outgoing (Ashley Young, Kolarov etc).
Marotta also doesn't know if Conte will be around, so does he sign an old player on high salaries that may not work for Conte? Don't see it.

Conte doesn't know if he's going to be here and it's also not wise to care about the mercato so much now unless there's an amazing opportunity.

It's pretty much too soon but mosy, there's too much uncertainty on our near future that makes it impossible to think Bosman Mercato.

The club is probably on an unofficial embargo here as we are in the process of takeover, cannot make plans for new expenses unless they guarantee that it's going to add value to the company. Which usually is counterproductive for the selling part during negotiations.

Saying all that, it would be great if we did get Aguero, on top of having Sanchez.

We need top names at the club, that's what Inter is all about: Grinta, strive and status.

But always not at the expense of the club's harmony.

Let's see how the next few weeks pan out and we can see if our best options is to get Dimarco and keep Pinamonti around or if we can dream for guys like Messi and obtain the likes of Aguero, Milinkovic-Savic and/or some starlet.

Yes and my comment was purely financially motivated. Anything can always happen but my speculation is based on my prediction of the most probably scenario which is that we don't have the funds to do basically any big moves. I'd love to be wrong.

In that regard and based that scenario I want and expect us to bring Agoume and Dimarco back. Maybe find a place for Pinamonti and find a cheap 4th striker, unless Conte sees Pina developed enough (given he stays) so he can play more next season. Sign CB like Maksimovic for free or bring Pirola back if he's anywhere near ready (I really doubt as he has played like 4 matches this season so far).

If we had the money it could make sense in order to have a strong bench. Sanchez has been injured a lot and this will only get worse because of his age i'm afraid. But I rather fix the bigger holes in the team first before we get Aguero. Amazing player nevertheless but not our biggest priority now.

Even if money wasn't an issue having a forward line of Lukaku, Lautaro, Aguero and Sanchez wouldn't make a lot of sense. You would have issues in the dressing room with both Aguero and Sanchez demanding playing time while you also can't bench Lautaro and hinder his development. Aguero would make sense only if one of Lautaro and Sanchez was gone.

I agree with Brehme we can't plan ahead. There are some really interesting options on free agency. Donnarumma, Wijnaldum, Aguero, Depay, Otavio. But apart from scouting and some preliminary talks with agents the management can't really do anything. They don't know the available budget for transfers or even contract extensions, they don't know if they will need to sell starters, they don't know who's gonna be the coach. Heck they don't even know if they're gonna have a job! The ownership situation needs to be sorted asap so the management can plan for next season.
