Yes Lolo I am with Canada obviously, but I will also support Morocco, I always liked the Moroccan team, and they play really well and always produce youngsters.

lol what a co-incidence, Canada are in the same group as Syria so looks like were in competition.

It's a boring tournament so far.

Italia is out (or are they?) and the only game that I've had time to watch is USA-Argentina.

How is Cesc Fabregas playing, and is that Obi kid that Man Utd and Chelski fighting over playing for Nigeria?

His finishing was poor. I'm much more impressed with Adu's ability to create space and opportunities for his team-mates at the age of 16.

Italia beat the USA 3-1 in the 2nd round to move to the final 8. Great game to watch.

Hedwiges Maduro, from Holland, his club is Ajax. What a fuckin' great player. He's the new Frank Rijkaard, I hope Inter wil sign him, not AC Milan.

Vlaar-Maduro and Babel, we call them ' The Three from de Haan (Dutch coach)', and Gullit, Rijkaard and van Basten were 'The Three from Milaan', I hope we'll get the new Three.

Oh, so cruel... Why can't we ever win on penalties? jesus..

We really showed heart and character, I thank the boys for fighting so hard in a hostile environment. I mean, once can consider the stadio to be a home for Morocco as they had so many fans.

Graziano Pelle really improved as the tournament went on.

What a great team, Morocco is one of the best teams in Africa, I hope they make it to the WC, they deserve it more than Tunis.

That goalkeeper is the only reason they won. Sure, it would be proper to root for the underdog and say that they deserved it, but the better team lost today.

Also, news on Lionel Messi (he's been the star of the tournament, I hear).

The Barcelona midfielder turned 18 on Friday, but has already earned plaudits for his performances at club level since being introduced to the first team at Camp Nou this season.

But it is with the Argentinian under-20 side that he is really making his mark and it was after a recent appearance for his country that Maradona exclaimed he was a big fan.

"The youth team of Argentina is a footballing orphan without Messi," Maradona said.

"It is a long time since we depended on one player as this team depends on Lionel. He is a genius.

"Messi is a leader and he knows the responsibility on his shoulders but it does not bother him. He is very clever and it is very comforting to see a player like that putting on the Argentina shirt."

But Maradona is no sure that Messi will have had enough experience to make it into the final 22 for next year's World Cup Finals in Germany.

"In order to go to the World Cup he would need to win the title with Barcelona and several other players ahead of him in the national team would have to drop their level,"

Messi has been quite outstanding this tournament. He's a future star.

How has Obi Mikel been playing thus far? Chelsea and Man Utd are fighting over him, so he must be worth it.

Messi scored a wonderful goal against Spain today. He is very good reminds me of a certain Pablito Aimar back then. Great touch, and makes intelligent runs off the ball. One to watch in years to come.

Pablo Aimar plays a much deeper role in the midfield, though. Lionel Messi is a technically gifted player, but I think he is getting too much praise right now, especially since he isn't even a regular on the bench for Barcelona.

For christ sake, Maradona was suggesting that he might make the WC squad for next season.

The semis for this comp are Nigeria v Morocco and Argentina v Brasil. I saw highlights of the quarter-finals and I thought Messi looked good. I agree that people r hyping him up a bit, but this often happens with young players who make an impact.

maybe u should re-read that interview cause Maradona was saying the oppisote. Saying it would be very difficult for many reasons.
