Sometimes escaping from reality seems like the obvious shortcut to happiness.. though, wonder if such thing even exists.
Such life is, in truth, slavery to insatiable appetites that are no sooner satisfied than hunger again for more and more.. and if they are sated they grow dull and weary and you fall into sluggishness.. numb.
Are the embraces of chicks the right place to find lasting happiness in? Ive been there several times... affections wiggles, that passion is inconsistent and volatile, and these beautiful chicks are seduced by mere words of praise. The stories of lovers tell only of unhappiness which is crowned with greater disappointments if the infatuation ends in marriage. .. for in that latter estate.. each party will miss in the other the desired perfections he imagined were there. After the lust is slaked.. and the desire abates each will come to see the other's defects.. blown large as if through a microscop.
What about great wealth? It is merely another form of slavery. fact is.. the wealthy are put in the service of their riches.. they are enslaved in the process of ag-grandizing, collecting, and guarding them.. they become like their servants in a reversal of the normal.. obsession takes over.. then overwhelms its victims..
What about "power and glory"? Aren't they just in essence, and as history consistently revealed.. is a "pitfall", leading to arrogance and tyrany. The person in power is like a rider on a lion: today he has the reins in his hand.. but tomorrow he is eaten by the beast that carries him... it`s always the same old story, agan and again.. but no one seems to learn. the feeling of the moment could decive one, that its pleasure could make it like .. its going to be eternal... and then.. just like always. the end of this story is so consistent.. it`s as stable as the gravity law.
Drugs and wine.. in truth, they are nothing but forms of escape from mind, from conscience, from the spirit's yearning and human responsibility by drowning oneself in the fire of lust and the rapidness of appetits. it isnt really a higher style of life, it`s just a deterioration back to the hording of apes and the copulationof animals..
Sorr for the pile of bullshit.. Im in a bad mod and wanted to speak my mind.
Anyway.. Im pretty sure all of us will be quite happy if we pulled a win on saterday`s derby.
Happiness is overrated. "Life is a tragedy for those who feel and a comedy for those who think". Our generation is not capable of either, thus they keep looking for this 'happiness' everyone seems to be talking about. We are the generation of Happy Pills and plastic barbies, the generation of cowardly indifference. Our only concern is to overfeed ourselves fake, by the book confidence; why have a soul when you can't fuck it, why be compassionate when you can make others miserable, why help the needy when you can rob them as much as you can?
Be careful, if you go looking for true happiness, you'll only find death. If you want to live, you'll have to be 'unhappy', and when you are 'unhappy' you will remember that you are going to die.
