Guarin as a playmaker is not all its made up to be. Most of the time he just gets the ball, turns and runs. IMO he is best in the midfield 3. Kuz sure did impress me in the Siena game, well compared to the rest of the team... He will allow strama to have a more flexible midfield in terms of passing but some players like obi, schelotto, Ricky, needs to step up and force themselves into the first team. Otherwise strama will be stuck player zanetti and gargano in the midfield, and then we are back at step 0.

no, i do agree with that.

the problem is where you really want to play kovacic. he prefers trequartista, but it looks like we're gonna play him as a regista.

Ideally in a 4-2-3-1, you play something like Cambiasso-Regista;Guarin

where the Regista is either Benassi or Kovacic.

But I agree, the two of them dont go well in midfield, you need some better defensive cover. At the same time, you also cant really play guarin and kovacic together with someone like benassi behind

from what I remember, kovacic prefers being in the midfield rather then the trequartista. Pretty sure he said it in the interview as well.

If i'm wrong, I stand corrected

Im pretty sure Kova likes to be played further forward than CM. Thats the impression I got from Croatian journalists.

I highly disagree.

And i have to tell that i am kind of shocked you preferred Perreira over Nagatomo.
I don't want to make rash summaries out of only one match but Kusmanovic should be number one selection on CM along with Cambiasso.

---------------------------Handanovic-------------------------
Zanetti--------Juan-----------------------Ranocchia-------Nagatomo
---------------------------Cambiasso----------------------------
----------------------Kuzmanovic-----------------------------------

--------------------------Kovacic----------------------------------
---------------Guarin----------------------------Cassano-----------
---------------------------Palacio----------------------------------

This would be great formation given Strama will probably bench Alvarez as always.

Cambiasso must never get involved in offense. He shouldn't even cross the middle line :D His role in the formation would be focused purely on defense. Anticipating, Tackling, intercepting.....Backing two CBs. Preventing to give open space for opponents outside of the box.
Kuzmanovic's role is crucial in the formation. He should be the bridge between defense and offense. Pass distributor from deep.

Actually i said Naga or Alvaro in my post, doesnt really matter to me, both of them have been average at best, Naga has had his highs and lows but lately he hasnt been any better than Alvaro in my opinion, both have been shit but both have potential so i have no problem seeing them at LB or LM (in a 3-4-3) competing with each other.

Kuzmanovic looks great but i prefer Cambiasso and Guarin, 2 who i think have been our best midfielders but make no mistake, Kuz is in the rotation.

This post somehow reminds me of the Pirlo fiasco...

Trequartista, regista, dickista, pussysta.

Just play the kid. We've already been gagged by bunch of shit groups of men that call themselves Serie A teams, cant get any worse than this.

Dear Mr. Stramaccioni

Please keep using today's formation regularly because it seems that the old, hopefully, formation you've been trying to use has not achieved any synergy on the pitch unlike today's formation. It seems our hero Captain of a fullback is more convincing at the back. Our real midfielders are more productive in their natural role more than makeshift solutions. We were able to exploit the center and return to the 3 man attack we used against Juve, which you orchestrated. Mr. Stramaccioni, keep this us because it uses the strength of our available players. Also, like Earth suggested, please spare the 3 man attack to the big games, grazie.

Sincerely
Y&h and the gang of FIF

I guess our demand for Strama can be summarised as such:

1) Never ever play 3412 again.
2) Never ever put Zanetti in the midfield again.
3) Keep Cambiasso in the centre, not Gargano.

It's really not rocket science here. I know how coaches love to make a mark and defy common sense. But the past few months have shown that your "uniqueness" was not working. Go back to the basics. Play 4312, 433 or 4231 I don't care. But NOT a 3-men back line. Full stop.

- Back four

- Zanetti at RB

- A good ratio of attacking/creative players to defensive ones

- No pereira, jonathan, Rocchi, Chivu, Silvestre

aaaaaaaaaand see what happens we play a good game.

-------------Milito/Palacio

---------Cassano---------Maravilla

----Kova/Kuz----Cambiasso/Gargano----Guaro/Kuz

Nagatomo-----Juan---Ranocchia--------Zanetti

-----------------Handa

Do it, and stick with it.

Very excellent point, then we should keep that to the big games and revert to a 4321 formation.

Edit: There edited. :derp:

You actually want Ricky to start? The guy played 20 minutes and couldn't even keep up with the tired Chievo midfield when he had just come on.. We can't start him.. he's way too slow.

Leave all your hype for Ricky at home. Think of him as Solari you're in for a surprise, the good kind. Think of him as Kaka? You'll end up seeing Quaresma. No, no Ricky starting ever.
