objectively, this is a decent result but we could have won this which is disappointing. mancini's head way up his ass as always. we have some really good players, for example in the first half brozovic, jovetic, murillo played like monsters.

So we've scored 8 goals this season. The same amount of goals as 19th placed Carpi lead by the great Marco Borriello.

A fair result. Inter dominated the first half, Juve the second. But both teams showed quality in the defence.

I wish we had played like this against Fiorentina!! Jojo is so critical for us, he gives us a lot of confidence in the attack... I think he gave singlehandedly Juventus 3-4 yellow cards, could have been even more. Miranda does the same for our defence. I think the clean sheet is an important achievement here. Our defence looks well organised after a few years of madness. Now we need to focus on creating an effective attack... the glimpses of talent that Jojo and Perisic have shown so far, I think its possible.

I am not sure why so many people here are disappointed with our performance. The first half was easily our best performance in a few years. Its quite reasonable to expect that we would be able to keep that level of intensity over 90 minutes. And this result isn't half bad, I would have happily accepted it before the game. 16 points from 8 games, we are on track.

This team is developing nicely, give it time...

i honestly dont think our defense is well organized. we defend in a lot of numbers (medel - melo - brozo ahead of the defense and perisic's work rate) and we have decent defenders...

before this game, we looked really shaky at the back even if we didn't concede (vs milan, verona)

main criticism with the first half is that we had 1 or 2 real oppurtunities because in the final third our team weighs on the shoulders of one player. still, it was generally a great half and we put a lot of pressure on them..

Honestly looking at things perspectively a point is actually a good outcome in the Derby. However, fuck that, they were right there for the taking and Mancini is too scared to seize the opportunity. From one of the best halves we had to one of the worst! I don't even feel like analyzing the match man..

I think our shitty second half was more due to the fact that Juve were sitting back and were trying to hit us on counters. It makes sense; Allegri saw that Inter were dangerous and very close to a goal so he decided to pull back.

In the second half Juve's defense was much more compact and we barely got past the midline. We definitely need to bring in a winger/SS this coming mercato.

I was happy to see Perisic on the left and not wasted in the middle. Cuadrado was on fire tonight! thank god he didn't score! Credit to Juan for keeping up with him (almost). Any chance we could steal Cuadrado from Juve?

On the other hand, why did Mancini wasted his subs so early in the game? He must've waited a bit more...

Glass half empty, Shaun?

We also have the best defence in the league, conceding only 6 goals so far. Overall, its a good place to be. You rebuild from the defence up.

I think our defensive stats are somewhat deceptive. If Juve play with a talented striker rather than Zarunalotza today then they win easily. His mis-controlling of good ball in several occasions is the only reason they didn't score. Even in the first half when everyone was pleased with our play (myself included) Zaza was the reason why most of their attacks proved fruitless.

We were very fortunate not to ship a few more goals against Sampdoria last round too.

We also have overrated coach, average Melo who looked good only at the beginning, Guarin who plays 1 good ball and ruins 3 others, Icardi who doesn't help and is useless in build-up play, Perisic out of his favourite role who plays good only for Croatia, bla bla bla...

Facts: best defence in the league (with Fiorentina), TOP 3, just one point less than league leaders.

Good night.

Shaun you're generally a good poster, but you often seem to find any reason or excuse to slight Inter. However, when the shoes on the other foot you never give that same leniency. Allegri the same coach who led this Juventus team to a CL final last year by winning games like this decided to play Zaza over a perfectly fit Dybala. If Dybala was injured I could see you're excuse, but it just doesn't hold water in this situation.

Allegri played Zaza because of his defensive contribution and the fact he has more open play goals then Dybala this year. Who's to say if they started with Dybala they would have been as strong defensively and we wouldn't have scored during our first half ascendancy?

We conceded 1 or 2 goals less than 5 or 6 other teams, but scored 10 less than 3 direct competitors and equal or less than 15 teams in the league.

Defending the way we do is a trade-off though, so I guess the gd was to be expected, but maybe not this drastic.

dont get it, how is this relevant to what shaun was saying that juve would have won if they had a better striker than zaza? or what the discussion was about in the first place, that we dont have the best defense in the league and that we cant score goals?

Why does my argument not hold water because Allegri chose differently? People claim all the time on here that if Mancini had done this or that we would have won etc etc. How is what I said any different?

Anyway, Dybala hasn't really been playing as a striker. If Dybala had played Juve would have had Morata further up the pitch. With playing Zaza up the middle Morata had to play in a position he is less accustomed to as well. I agree that Zaza's workrate was exceptional and may have been a factor in them keeping us scoreless, but even in the first half it was Zaza's lack of ability on the ball which stopped several good chances for them. I'm not saying Dybala would have scored if he played, but he's been creating 2-3 chances per game for them and Morata is better as a CF than Zaza.

Also, Dybala and Zaza both have two open play goals this season. Also, Dybala set up both of Zaza's goals.

Anyway, my argument wasn't about Dybala. It was about Zaza and how poor technically he is. With a good CF in his position I think they would have won. That CF hypothetically being Mandzukic, or Morata, or Tevez or Icardi, or anyone else of good quality.

If we go to win this, we can consider counter attack goals from fast PACE Cuadrado and if we open space for Pogba that will be to risk, for that reason, Mancini dont want to not risk that... the match is 0:0 one post for us and Rube and one half for us and Rube, the referee show good referring...

Mancini dont want to risk that point that is all! We are in better position and we are at TOP 3 after 8 games, why you all want from totally new team... If we play like 1st half we have great future, but we need CREATIVE PLAYER and kids fans know that, hope January is time for that kind of player at our midfield!

If our best performance in a few years is zero shots on target then we should all kill ourselves. I'll start.

i think allegri's reasoning behind playing two number 9's like zaza and morata together was to overload the wings and send in crosses with two big targets in the box, he expected us to keep playing our 4-3-1-2 with no attacking width. that didnt work b/c mancini put perisic on the wing and allegri did well to change his tactics in the second half.

also, best performance over the past two years was our 3-0 away win against udinese, two years ago. :D we controlled the game in the first half because of juve's bad tactics, and some of our players had great individual performances but we had no end product because everything in the final third is weighed down on one man's shoulders, jovetic...
