Embarrassing. Hopefully US makes some serious changes to the program.

Seriously embarrassing by USMNT. All they needed was a draw against by far the worst team in the group. Feel bad for Pulisic who was having very good year or 2, shame he will miss world cup.

Also watched US U17 world cup game against India, have to say I wasn't impressed at all.

Man, I wasn't expecting this. Lol for FIFA, they were just breathing a sigh of relief for Messi and Argentina, and half an hour later 300 mln of Americans are missing out on world cup.

But really, this is unbelievably bad, the group is quite easy.

man - this pisses me off so much! HOW THE EFF DO YOU NOT QUALIFY FROM CONCACAF????

so many emotions:

1. time to wake up - I love US soccer and I love this country but some of the soccer fans in this country are so stupid - they overrate the USA squad so much and have no conception of the talent gap between the USA and pretty much all of south America and Europe - hell, even the talent gap to mexico. They think that a few wins here and there and decent performances in the tournaments means we are so close, but they have no idea how limited the players are and how miserable we look even when we win sometimes. These fans who think the USA is 'almost there' need to STFU or watch more soccer before running their mouth. Typical dumbasses love to claim we are the best at everything and can dominate Europeans at their own sport (similar sentiments to the tour de france when lance amstrong was cheating his way to wins). Again, not all USMNT fans, but too many.

2. time to stop babying US talent - too many times players who have real talent shirk the responsibility and pressure and come running back to the MLS. I understand its comfortable and you can make some dough and I have a vested interest in having the MLS succeed and be competitive but players like Donovan, Bradley, jones, Dempsey, altidore, etc...should have stayed and kept training and competing in Europe. They don't need to play at elite clubs, just keep plugging away in mid-table clubs in the 3 big leagues and atleast play against the best competition.

3. US Soccer has to do a better of job of getting top athletes in the US to be more attracted to the sport. Maybe with the increased concern of long term brain damage, health issues, fucked-up racist owners and the exposed racial undertones and hypicrocy in the NFL, soccer can try and make a concerted effort in the US to try and get better athletes into the soccer realm. Culturally, US soccer has to brand itself better than something that is limited to northeast prep schools and latino/Hispanic immigrants. There is a huge amount of athletic talent in the US and it needs to be directed to the USMNT better - make it more attractive than other sports. American football seems the most ripe to see a drop in popularity/talent.

4. encourage creativity FFS - without set pieces I don't think we would ever win games. Glad to see solid fundamentals but if you don't encourage creativity and some flair coming up through the systems, you can't compete on the international level.

Thoughts on the new USMNT getting scrapped together with Weah, Sargent, Pullisic, McKennie, and some of the younger guys like Yedlin, Brooks and Miazga.

I will get a lot more hyped if Weah and Sargent start to get playing time like McKennie and Pulisic. Also think Tyler Adams should have been in Europe already.

If we can get Weah, Sargent, Pulisic, McKennie, Adams, And Miazga getting decent playing time in Europe I think we can take a real step forward as a national team. That can be a really good core to build off. Of course some of those kids will end up flopping and a few new ones will probably come along. However I just think we need to keep the momentum with youth going and keep getting them over to Europe ASAP

Miazga needs to leave Chelsea. He can land a good gig at virtually any mid-table club from any of the Big 5 leagues.

Also, Adams is likely joining RB Leipzig in January.

Valuable experience for an extremely young team, even if the serial divers got the win.

Matt Miazga put in a great shift. Hoping he ditches Chelsea, after this season.

Wtf isn’t the coach official yet?

The US tied France in France before the WC with this team full of nobodies that many aren’t even starters or pros then the game last night!!!

US was robbed. Most bullshit PK in the history of time

Nope. They're still "scouring the globe" for the very best (which basically means they'll hire an MLS coach.

Also, Brazil defended well, but did not deserve a 2-0 win. Fabinho dived, and they stunted to flow of play for the US by constantly playing dead on the floor. I would expect a 1-1 draw, but 2-0 is a robbery. Fuck Fabinho, and Fuck the serial divers. They've made a mockery of the fucking sport.

I hate and will alway hate Brazil for 2014 and the bullshit they pulled on us. Then remembered what they have done to other teams in the past but it wasn’t against us so didn’t care :)

If I was the US I would hire the current coach or bring Tata Martino who colombia is also after.

I honestly want someone that can establish a style.

Every successful country has their own trademark style. Italy's defense, Brazil's quick attack, Germany's pressure cooker midfield, Spain's tiki-taka. There needs to be something similar in the U.S.

The U.S. has a lot of attacking talent, and I think focusing on that talent is best for the whole team especially since Americans love A LOT of goals.
