Inter is strongly pressing on Nicolò Barella. In the last hours, according to what was discovered by FcInterNews.it, there have been contacts between Alessandro Beltrami, Cagliari midfielder agent, and the Nerazzurri sporting director Piero Ausilio, already informed by the president of the Sardinians, Tommaso Giulini, of the price of his jewel: 35 million euros. There is Luciano Spalletti's ok for the operation, now we have to see if the Nerazzurri club can lower the claims to 18-20 million by inserting one or two technical counterparts like Xian Emmers, Jens Odgaard or Andrea Pinamonti.

his agent caught on tape in a known Milano hotel

The dealings are serious and he now deserves a thread...

What I know about him...his technical skills are sick! He reminds me of Verratti,in all aspects, even temperament...he will get the odd RED card here,no doubt because he is all grinta!
However what he can do with the ball, move forward like a Kovacic, because his close control in tight spaces is sick...his long ball game is also very on point. If you ask me he could be a great regista...but then we have Brozo,Gags,Vecino there...maybe Borja can give him advice...sensei shit
Spallo will want to move him up front probably,he sees him as Nainggolan kind of player, but he needs to improve his finishing game that's for sure, however for a 21 year old he is one of Italy's most promising players...with talent to spare! If we managed to get him and Chiesa...I would be over the moon with joy.

so a midfield...

BROZO/BARELLA/BORJA-GAGS/VECINO

good enough for me

I could actually see Barella being used as our RM if we decide to play a 4-4-2. Similar to how Atlético uses Saul or Koke

Something like this...

Icardi - Martinez
Perisic - Brozovic- Gagliardini - Barella
Asamoah - De Vrij - Skriniar - Cancelo

Barella can play anyplace in mf and be good at it...from what I've seen anyway,Cagliari's top player already

btw...people please stop using in Cancelo in your formations,he ain't staying,I'm pretty much sure...we can't fork out 35mil in this budget season anymore...but then I read on FCIN news that we could offer Eder to Valencia to reduce the price...aha ok

We are yet to reach the "0" level. Did UEFA approve our financial statement? It's likely they will, but with that we will only get to the starting point and it doesn't mean we will not get back to those troubles again, unless we don't learn how to spend wisely.

Completely different positions and roles.

You are right! They are only both CMs who like to make forward runs, technical, good in tight spaces, get in goalscoring positions and are not much of a creative type...

You are right! They are only both CMs who like to make forward runs, technical, good in tight spaces, get in goalscoring positions and are not much of a creative type...

They both probably also have dogs and live in an apartment. They're also both professional football players! So much more that unites them that divides them!

It'd be really nice if people who don't know what they're talking about to simply ask about the players instead of directing ignorant rhetorical questions that cannot lead to a normal discussion...

So in short, no, Barella coming cannot, in any sporting way, be an obstacle to retaining Rafinha.

Barella is a player that will occupy positions held by Gagliardini, Brozovic and Vecino. His role on the other hand can be expanded. He's a little pitbull that chases every ball and he's also good at going forward.
Does this cover who Nicolo Barella is?
Then Rafinha is a regular attacking midfielder that can be slotted in every AM spot and occupy various roles. He can only deliver as a central midfielder in a 4-3-3 and his role will have almost no defensive duties, whereas Barella will be the main defensive minded midfielder.

Do you get now why getting Barella doesn't mean no Rafinha? Keep this post as a reminder to ask before trying to be an impolite smart ass and to avoid answers in the same tone...

From my understanding, they're all slightly different players. Torreira sits in front of the defense, Pellegrini is a B2B midfielder, and Barella is an AM who can play on the wing.

Thanks for the reply, ive seen the highlight reel and he looks like regista, dont we already have brozo and need DM more? If we’re gonna use him as AM then he looks like our Plan B to rafi.

Yesterday “barcelona reject new loan deal”, today “ausillio meeting barella agent”

Barella => Brozovic who can defend and run forward. He's not an attacking midfielder, no idea where everyone gets that from. It's like calling Cambiasso an attacking midfielder just because he sometimes run forward and entered the opponent's area.
Torreira => Gattuso who can pass and shoot. Actually, Gattuso who can pass for a professional football player.
Pellegrini => Pirlo light.

All are good. There's no such thing as an analysis for who's better as no one stands out of the lot, but it's a matter of how they fit for a team and the coach's plans.

But you can’t deny they’ve done well with their youngsters.
