so it appears that we are inclined NOT to participate this year, even though we would have the first right to chose as we would be first in the cumulative ranking, so even if there is a single serie C team who cannot enroll due to financial issues (and there are 3-6 expected slots) we would be in if we wanted.

seems a dum decision, but i guess they know best. of course if they really plan to sell all the best young players...

I can't understand why Inter are passing on this opportunity...

Players: That can't be an issue, just use the primavera and don't send some of the players out on loan. We can let our primavera team suffer for a season, if that allows those kids to play in Serie C

Staff: Again, use the primavera staff initially and we can build on it over the next 6 months.

Infrastructure: If we can't use the primavera infra, we can easily do a deal with a Serie B or Serie C club, they don't even have to be next-door. How does it matter where our base is in the first season?

FFP: This should not be a problem as this is mostly youth investment, or am I mistaken?

This team does not have to be perfect from the start, the first season our objective should be not to get relegated. This is a great opportunity, why not use it to get a B team in, and build it up over the years. You can't cry about the gap between primavera & senior team for ages, and then when FIGC give you a bridge in between, you decline - thats just fucking stupid.

Unless Inter have received some assurance that we will be given this opportunity again next season, in which case I can understand waiting.

What happens if those Serie A B-teams get promoted to Serie A? Would we have Inter and Inter B playing each other throughout the season?

B teams must play at least one level below the main side, this means B teams for Serie A sides would be ineligible for a promotion. They can't play in the Coppa as well.

At least this is how it is in Spain.

Rules in Spain dictate that the B side plays one level BELOW the A side.

It defeats the purpose of a B team, if you can switch between those two in order to stay in the top leagues, no?

I already see Inter playing against Inter B.

Inter B is playing better, then like in the Formula 1 you hear the mysterious code message from the coach..

Banning team orders was so stupid in the first place. It would always happen in some way in a code.

If A team gets sent to 2nd division the B team will be relegated to 3rd division.

Only juventus will have a B team next season. Milan backed out last minute because Elliott isn't interested. There was room for 3 B teams

This is outrageous IMO. Although truth be told we sold all our proper primavera, so maybe we're stalling for now so a new crop can come through.

Yes.

There is no point in having a B team if you are not sending top prospects there which you want to nurture.
What is left in primavera after June this year is too young...

Lets hope that next year settlement agreement won't be there anymore..

A few reasons

1) there was not enough time to set up a team and staff. Most young players had been promised already to other teams or were involved until june 30 in deals.

2) it wasn't clear how the rules would have turned out until late in the summer.

3) it wasn't clear whether inter would have a spot or not since it depended on how many teams would not sign up for serie c, since the rules made juventus (what a chance!) the only team with a guaranteed spot

4) the structure of serie c and the lower league (serie D) are such taht there's a high chance that a team of youngsters would be involved in the relegation battle. in case of relegation the team would be disbanded for one year and then would sign up again for the possibility (i.e. not guranteed!) to join serie C 12 months later. Serie C is highly competitive (teams ranked 40-100) and it's a real gamble to set up a new team in 2 months for that kind of challenge.

To summarize: too much uncertainty in the rules and too little time to organize it.

Inter have not opted for the B team yet, since we do not want to deplete our strong Primavera side and plus we don't have enough players for a B team. I'd rather wait and do it right, than just jump in and make a fool of our club.

Just to let you know that Juve (the only team who registered an u23 squad in serie c) just lost 4-0 and has lost on both matches played so far.

So for anyone of you who thought that we could just reassemble a team in some weeks , take part in serie C and walk through it to an immediate promotion , please wake up.
Kids play from professional football is very very different.
And it becomes even more difficult for a club like Inter which doesn't have a precise football style/culture in the 1st team let alone in the youth ranks so it is more dependent on individual talent. Even for Barca which plays with the same football style from 5 years to 1st team it took a great generation of players to actually make it to segunda division.

Who said we were looking for immediate promotion? Because its such a jump from primavera to Serie C, that is precisely the reason why we should participate in it with a B team for the young players to get that professional league experience.
