I think talks are getting serious and he needs his own thread.

Antonio Conte is reportedly demanding a €10m salary after tax to become Inter’s next Coach.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter President Steven Zhang has instructed general manager Beppe Marotta to bring Conte to the club.

However, the newspaper warns the 49-year-old is not completely convinced by a return to Serie A.

Therefore, he would accept no less than the figure Chelsea had proposed to him after he won them the Premier League in 2017.

That is €3m more than Juventus boss Max Allegri, who is the Italian top flight’s highest earner.

The Nerazzurri would also have to pay Luciano Spalletti €25m if they were to part with the Coach this summer.

For 25 million I'd say keep Spalletti!

Even though i want Spalletti gone, i tend to agree. Unless Suning are willing to spend 200m on transfers next summer, we're not going to seriously challenge Rube for the Scudetto next season. Spalletti is good enough for another top 4 finish. I'd rather invest money from Spalletti's firing on the market in order to close the distance with Rube and Napoli and get a better coach when we're going to be more ready to pose a challenge to Rube.

Spalletti is a better coach than Conte anyway, but he has torn his image at Inter.
I'd only settle for Sarri from Italian coaches and I still don't see him as a better candidate than Spalletti was.
Whoever comes needs a financial backing that we have not shown willing to provide, so I'd rather avoid a next Lippi or Tardelli situation.

Yeah, I'd like everybody to have this sentiment of not getting rid of Spalletti just yet. We should refresh our team, lay new foundation in the midfield (next to Brozo) and we can change the coach next summer if need be. But for what Inter needs to do now, Spalletti has proven to be the right choice.

He must not fuck up the CL qualification (this season and the next) and that's it.

As usually, I agree with Il Drago - Conte is asking for too much, clearly is only after the money. What would that result?! Disruptive approach only to be fired for the compensation package? Look at him and Chelski, we don`t want that. Let him sit and collect their paychecks, I don`t care.

BTW, where are these €20m/25m figures coming from firing Spalletti? :chan: I know he has a contract until 2021, but still?! Can anybody do the math?

Spalletti's deal is 4m net annually, so he pretty much costs Inter 8m a season.

The 20m figure was for a January/February sacking.
8+8 for 2020 and 2021 seasons plus half the money from the current one.

He'll cost us 16m to sack unless we reach a mutual agreement where we can reduce that by almost a half as we can bypass the taxation or something.

4.5m net per year *2 =9m gross
2 years =18m
+ his coach staff.

He really is only after money. He asks for 10m because that's how much he asks as a compensation from Chelsea unless he takes another job.

Chelsea and Antonio Conte could end up in the High Court as their legal battle over a severance package wages on.

According to The Times, a ‘Premier League managers’ arbitration tribunal’ will rule on the matter, with Chelsea and Conte no nearer to a resolution.

The Blues sacked the Italian last summer, a year before his contract was due to expire, but his lawyers believe he is entitled to a £9m (€10.5m) payoff, unless he takes another job.

If i were Marotta, i wouldn't offer him more than 7m. If Conte wants to work next season he needs to take a paycut else he can enjoy Chelsea money and remain unemployed for one more season.

Lol 10 million a year? I'm sorry how many Champions Leagues has he won? Of course the first Scudetto with Juve was incredible but the second year breakdown with Chelsea doesn't make him some world class super manager.

We need to stay away from this guy. He has ended both his big club tenures with huge disagreements and breakdown of relationships, even a court case. The Diego Costa incident shows this guy has the maturity of a imbecile. This guy will not work out at Inter, he may end up destroying whatever little we have built recently.

I would much rather continue with Spalletti than get Conte. And 20m gross wages is a fucking joke.

10M is outrageous for a guy that will fail miserably due to his background. "A la Lippi"

If you keep Spaletti, you lose Icardi. Yes,professionals can coexist with each other even without being best friends but for positive and healthy group environment, you can't leave those two together next season. And Icardi alternatives like Dzeko just drive me mad. Yes,Mauro is a prick, but fuck Dzeko or Lukaku as alternatives.

Until we buy Džeko, the club has full support from me for keeping Spalletti.

So let's not buy into every rumour that surfaces.

Wow, i want LS gone at the end of the season but that is just not worth it. Id rather keep him for another year instead of spending so much on Conte also. Interesting what will happen.

If I were him I'd ask for more. Pochettino currently earning more btw. And Mou would probably demand more. We need a tough guy coach who will kick ass in the locker room , can't think of anyone tougher who is available.
