Yeah surely at the moment. Default for me is that we will get a new midfielder. Would be a catastrophe not to do so.

I think Barella is a must. Buying him for that amount and him not walking into our XI is stupid. But we are pazza inter so why not bench him for Sensi...

We don’t need the Barella case to tell us we are retarded, that much is already a known fact at this stage.

The only realistic way of keeping Barella near starting eleven is to get a player that is not similar to what he provides, some one who would compliment him well rather than doing exactly what he does.

Even then I can still see the possibility of Vecino displacing him from first eleven.

I don’t really agree with this. IMO we need to strengthen both wings, they are very lacking offensively. I am more worried about our lack of ability to attack down both wings, it’s almost like losing both arms.

I think both of them will be alternated in some matches, and in others they will play together when Brozo needs a break. They are 22 and 24 respectively so they will have time to develop.

Combine that with Icardick being cut off and thrown away and we are not in a good state.

Is anybody else worried that we are going into another season where we will be heavily reliant on Brozo? It remains to be seen how Sensi will deputize there.

I have zero problem relying on Brozovic as long as the midfield is better managed tactically than it was last season.

Spalletti had the other CM and the "AM" so high up the pitch that Brozovic was horrendously isolated most of the time. He had to put in an obscene defensive shift every single game and dictate our play pretty much by himself.

The best/worst example of this was that 4-1 disgrace against Atalanta. Spalletti had Gagliardini and Vecino higher up the pitch to pressure Atalanta and stop them playing out from deep. In actuality, that just resulted in a 30m gap between Brozovic, playing as some kind of sad DM, and the other clowns just waiting static outside Atalanta's box and being nowhere in defence. I have zero doubt Brozovic got himself deliberately sent off because he'd had enough of that shit

I get what you mean though. He can be an inconsistent player. Despite the apparent travesty of him flailing his arms in frustration (as opposed to the non-travesty that is Gagliardini/Vecino whenever they set foot on the pitch?) I'm not worried. I don't excuse his frustration or idiotic turnovers in dangerous positions, but I have no doubt if we take some pressure off his shoulders tactically, he'll deliver.

why should Barella play just because Inter pay so much for him,
if he is good he will be in starting 11,
Inter get rid of trouble makers because they wanna buildt a TEAM so it would be stupid to start someone just because of his price tag,
i actualy like that, you fight and play well and you will be rewarded, thats why PSG cant win CL, they dont have a team just bunch of individuals...

This player man, this fucking player. He's the closest to World Class on our squad and I didn't think he'd be any better than he was under Spalletti but if Conte can make Candreva (and others) play that much better imagine the heights Brozo could reach with him.

Marcelo Brozović's game by numbers vs. Lecce:

130 touches (most)
102 passes (most)
92% pass accuracy
5 take-ons
4 shots
3 interceptions (=most)
3 tackles made (most)
2 chances created
1 goal

Huge display.

How many times did he throw his hands up in frustration though?

Jokes aside, a great game. Comes with the territory of playing possession football and building from deep, but I wish he'd play it a bit safer from time to time and just boot the ball upfield instead of passing/dribbling so close to our own goal.

Brozovic's performance yesterday went a bit unnoticed apart from the goal as people understandably focussed on new boy Sensi and reborn Candreva. Bro was our engine yesterday, I don't think there was a single blade of grass on the San Siro pitch he didn't touch. Brozovic has become such an awesome player, its been a privilege to watch his growth as a midfielder.

Fantastic performance yesterday, hands down. Apart from that one heart attack worthy moment where he almost gave the ball away on our goal line instead of clearing it earlier we saw some peak Brozo.

I am really looking forward to the Brozo-Sensi partnership. Sensi made some tremendous impact right up the bat, taking some weight off of Brozos shoulders. Also Barella did a good job, I hope Conte will eventually use all three of them. The only thing I can remember Vecino doing was miscontrolling and giving the ball away when moving forward.

I am aware that this fixture was probably the easiest one of the season, but from what I can judge this looks like a midfield that our coach can work with.

Not unnoticed, just not amused about it anymore.

That was the average Brozovic performance, developed into a superb player.

Interested to see how he continues to develop under Conte,
I think he grew a lot under Spalletti and Conte seems like exactly the type of coach to help him reach that next gear.
Honestly my favorite inter player at the moment. Seemed quite humble in his post match interview too.
