He does make tackles, but he was so shit yesterday that I can't remember him doing anything right.

This is where we can make the biggest upgrade to our starting XI. Looks like Conte has realised he needs to start a DM, and has been making Gagliardini play as one. But Gaglairdini's skill is very limited - he tries to do one touch passing that Conte needs from his midfield but just doesn't have skills for it. As a result, he looses too many balls and thats all he is remembered for.

If we can land a top DM like Kante who has the skills for one touch passing, its would be a HUGE upgrade to our starting XI. Kante is also better at winning back possession than Gagsy. If I were Marotta, I would focus the most on this position in the mercato. It would also allow Conte to start an attacking midfielder like Eriksen in the big games or even attempt 3-4-3 in some games like he did at Chelsea.

More critical of his biases. It is clear brehme knows his football while a certain candreva crosses is just an aggitator and edge lord.

I would rather have a bigger player than Kante for that spot. Maybe Partey?

He made 2 costly mistakes when he failed see the ball out or kick it to safety, which resulted in Getafe being awarded 2 corner kicks.

I understand that he provides more defensive cover than Eriksen but his passive nature/ lack of aggression- arguably why Conte has left Eriksen out of the starting 11-makes his contribution not worth it.

His defensive cover is not good enough and neither is his offensive game. Rather field a player who is great at one of these areas than a player who is not good at either and is merely serving as an extra body in midfield.

He will never be good its simple he is way to slow both in speed and reacting to be any way near the lvl of a championsship midfielder, sorry but its just that easy. Way to slow.

Yeah, and everything he does with the ball requires way too much space and time. I wish this EL is the last competition we have to see him at Inter shirt.

We were superb in the 1st half of the season with the trio brozo - sensi - barallea creating havoc in the middle and no one was complaining about missing a DM because we were focused on our attacking display.

Why the fuck it seems we completely changed track and shifted to DMs and long ball to Lukaku is my biggest mystery of the season . But no journalist asks this conte they all focus on BS drama topics....

I'm the edge lord? Have you been reading your comments about quality football? Or do you never read your own posts?

Last season Tonali played 34 games in Serie B and it seems he will play for Inter next season, the club with CL and Serie A ambitions. So, is he quality or are is he not.

Certain forum members talked about Tonali when he was still playing in Serie B, brehme included. He offered information and insight. That is why brehme is voted best football poster and you will never be.

You offer zero but negativity... So kindly shut the fuck up talking about quality when you don't understand how important lower leagues (especially champ., Serie b, la liga 2) are for cultivating talent pools. If anything, Serie B should do it even more.

During my ten years I've been on this forum (aside: Vas, I want my badge) there's this incredibly predictable vicious cycle that takes place annually. The forum will find a whipping boy it collectively decides to hate. Every match thread in which the player plays will be littered with comments bashing the player, regardless of performance. The pitchforks are out in full throttle. Eventually, we sell the player and there's a period of calm before the mob finds their next whipping boy and the vicious cycle repeats.

In 2011, it was everyone bitching and moaning about Pandev. In 2012, Chivu. 2013 through 16 feel like a blur, but I believe Guarin and Scheletto were two common ones. In more recent years, the disdain has pivoted towards Kondogbia, then Candreva, and now Gagliardini.

Now, you might be thinking: well yes, all of the players I just mentioned were useless twats, and that I generally agree with you on. However, are they through their individual performances costing us more than one or two games a season? I'd argue no.

I'm looking forward to when we sell Gags to Lazio this summer and immediately turn our attention to hating on either Vecino or Godin.

First of all , i want my badge too :) .

That said , its true that every year there is someone to pick but it also true that most of them deserved it.
I mean , its not debatable that Gagliardini is playing 16 matches in a row or something and yet there isnt one single game where he has shown that he deserves it. He has offered close to nothing both offensively and definitively , his passing is terrible , tackling non-existent , positioning always 1 time behind his opponent. I can't find one single reason why he should play before anyone else so wanting him out is only normal.
The same is valid for Vecino , some might say he has scored important goals , its true . But having a better midfielder starting instead of him could have possibly led this team to not need those important goals at all.
The hate vs these 2 , or Dambro playing winger , or Candreva being the starting choice are not personal hates but just desires to see inter better.

The only hate i have never understood in this forum was the one vs Ranochia. The reason why the 6th pick in defense , who does nothing but speak well about this club , contributes postively to team group harmony and even play generally well in those 2/3 matches during a season should be picked by the fans is completely uknown for me.

I agree re the hate, a lot of it is unwarranted. Its not the players fault that Inter doesn't have better skilled players to start over them. I understand the hate for players like Mario who were shit AND didn't put enough effort. But the "hate" for Candreva, D'Ambriosio (not now, earlier), Gagliardini, Vecino, etc is/was unjustified coz while they are limited in skills, they always give their all and show proper respect and attitude.

I find them frustrating too, but have respect for these players. That said, it will be good if we can sell Gagliardini.

Well, I think it's very common and not an Inter thing : Barcelona are bitching about Rakitic, Paris about Paredes, Juventus about Bernadeschi, MU about Lingaard, Real about Bale, etc.

I think it's just some fans pointing their frustration at the weak side of the team.

Lingard is proud that you have associated him with professional football players.

Yeah and as fans or hardcore fans they typically scrutinise players x38 times so the real shitty ones stand out. There can be other factors as well, perhaps someone's nationality can be a big reason why he's still giving chances? When there's a kid who plays the same role and might not be ready yet and could still has great potential but that player is preventing him.

It's not he is totally useless, he's big and somewhat strong, in the midfield with Brozo, Eriksen, Sensi, Valero and Barella that means something. But this does show how clearly we need an upgrade over Gags.

To be fair, I'm all up for selling Brozović if we get Partey or anybody like him.
