I raised this issue week ago or something. It's a tough situation for the management. Specially as they don't see Brozovic being part of the ultimate core for the future. I think he might not be that good as a rotation player and his characteristics doesn't fit anyway to that 3-4-1-2 formation.

I have a feeling he will end up getting sold for cheap next summer. Our management will resist offering the new contract. Let's see how it goes.
I think he is a good rotational option but definitely not good for a core player. I don't know how much he earns now but if he gets a new deal, he will become an expensive bench player, I suppose. So, a sale now it's the best logical option in my view but looks quite difficult for the moment.

That's exactly the thing and why I think he is transfer listed (basically). Valero was his natural sub last year, he is gone and we got nothing for him, which means Conte changed his gameplan and we don't intend to play that regista with 352 anylonger.

Brozo fits best in 352 as this middle midfielder and 4231 with the regista next to more defensive midfielder. He has no place in this team any longer and he clashes a bit with Sensi (although they can coexist together) but especially with Eriksen for some fucked up reason.

It would be the best to cash on him this year but we need a bit of luck with that. Same as with late offer of Bayern for Perisic.

I don’t want his contract to be renewed. I know Marotta won’t be able to sell Brozo because Marotta is useless but renewing Brozo’s contract is a crime because he is poisoning our midfield with his carelessness.

I think more and more people are recognizing that or due to other reasons why it would be better to get someone else in his place. I think it's just a matter of good offer enough for us and he will be gone.

We need to sell him, preferably now.

^^ thank you Captain Obvious, everybody sees that, including other clubs. There are no offers for Brozovic and Eriksen. COVID fucked up our mercato 4 sure.

Another German source confriming that Marcelo Brozovic is no longer a transfer target for Bayern Munich. The news comes from German channel Sport 1 which also states that the player’s agents are surprised by the fact that the German and European champions are suddenly no longer interest in the Croatian and see him as unfit and unsuitable for Hansi Flick’s needs.

Marcelo was throwing tantrums while on the pitch, imagine his emotional state watching the season from the bench >>> mental meltdown.

Hey, I've been preaching about selling him since we didn't make it out of CL groups again. He was instrumental for us to get to a top4, but to do anything greater we need to get rid of him. Too many times he crumbled

I'm sure we could sell him today. But for 10mln, not 40+ that we probably expect. But then 99% of our forum would shit on a moronic management of ours for selling him for peanuts.

So you lose if you do, lose if you don't.

THERE ARE NO GOOD ENOUGH OFFERS FOR HIM.

I don't expect more than Paqueta money for him, I used to, but now I think 25mil would be just right

With Nainggolan probably leaving, it doesn't make much sense to lose Brozovic on the cheap too. Maybe to make space for someone like Locatelli, but even that would be a gamble. Brozovic has played a lot of minutes for us, he just needs to focus on defending more and he'll be alright.

That said if a 30mil offer came in, I'd probably do it.

Brozovic’s contribution to the game is hugely understated to justify the choice of Nainggolan, Vidal, even Kante are sufficient replacement for him.

Even playing Sensi in his role, you lose a lot rather than gain anything.

It’s more of a compromise than an improvement.

Sacrificing Brozovic for Eriksen makes even less sense, the latter hardly makes any contribution to the team, it’s basically to cover up our incompetence in acquiring the right player for the system.

Unless we can sign Kante selling Brozo does nothing. Even if we do sell him, we won’t get over 30 million. That’s not anywhere near enough for Kante. Although I’m sure Conte wants Vidal in Brozo’s place so we’ll probably sell him for 10 million on the last day.

As soon as Vidal left and Brozovic was brought in, everything became clear to me. He can not be a starter, just not good enough.

Quite a weird thing to say considering Vidal and Brozovic don’t actually occupy the same position, their selection isn’t mutually exclusive.

Especially their functionalities aren’t even remotely similar to the team.

? I’m not really sure what do you want me to elaborate, do you think players playing in the same position means they function the same? Then Gagliardini is the same as Brozovic?

Sensi was the one who instigated each attacking move from the back to move the ball out from the back, he was the one who took over the Brozovic role. He then makes the off ball movement by the end of the attacking phase to join the attack, it’s quite impressive positionally really.

Vidal on the other hand sits further up front than Sensi at the start of the attack, but moves vertically less, and joins in the box less. He connects more transitional passes than move the ball forward from the back.

That is why it is fundamentally different to what Brozovic gives.

Oh and position wise, Brozo was a single pivot, even after Eriksen came in we seemed to have remained in that midfield shape.

I am not really saying Brozovic had a good game or not, it’s just that it is a fundamentally flawed comparison and some days we would need Brozovic’s talent in dictating play and exploiting flanks against teams that we would like to dominate through passes. This is something Vidal doesn’t give but can be complementary with.

Perhaps we should stop viewing players as mutually exclusive and start looking at them additively to understand how they can function as a unit than individually.

When it comes to you, every comparison seems 'flawed'. I guess we can't compare players against each other anymore.
