At minimum! They are really not that good anymore.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves... They are still very good. Beatable, but still very good

When is the first game and who is it against?

I say it every year: 10 points is the magic number to advance. It takes insane circumstances to be unable to qualify for the next round when you manage to get 10 points. In the past four tournaments, only 2019 Ajax was unable to advance to the next round with 10 points.

Shakhtar - Two wins, 6 points
Monchedgladbach - One win, one loss - 3 points
Madrid - One draw, one loss - 1 point

There's your path. Even then, some of you could argue this is a worst case scenario because we can easily do better.

I'm quite happy with the draw. Finally a decent group with no same old opponents all over again. Not too easy but not too hard either. Inter and Conte has no excuse to fuck this up again. Even Real is quite beatable.

I'm a simple man. All I ask is avoid the individual brainfarts of last season and we're all set for the next stage.

I love this draw, specially getting Real Madrid. The last time we played them was one of my favourite games of Inter, watching Baggio take them apart. And my greatest live football experience was also at Bernabeu, roughly 10 years ago. Playing Real Madrid at the Bernabeu now would feel like we have finally come back to our historical place as an European Elite.

Won't be easy, but a good draw for Inter. Could have been much worse.

We are second favorites to go through, that's the main point. So what if Gladbach is hard? They are hard for everyone. Let's just make sure we are not the only team giving them points. And, we are the favorites against them and Shakhtar, our material is out of this world compared to those two.

I'm so happy we can have a real shot to go through in the sense that we're not underdogs who need to have their best day and form to win better teams ahead of us.

We have a better squad than Madrid, believe it or not. I'm sure we can be top of the group.

Pretty solid group, surely shaktar won’t be as bad this time but regardless we should have more than enough to get through. The last couple of groups we’ve started quite well then petered out when qualifications in sight. So Important that doesn’t happen again.

I'm not entirely sure I agree, but we need to have that mentality. And not just against Real Madrid, either, but against anybody we face.

No, we should win this group. 1. Inter 2. B.Gladbach 3. Real Madrid

I have to ask, who do you worry about at Real Madrid? Overweight Hazard? Benzema, who is still good, but is not as fast anymore? Rodrygo? Vinicius? Asensio and Isco are relegated to the bench. Kroos and Modrić are not a powerhouse anymore, and Marcelo is in a steep decline.

Except for Mendy, Casemiro and (hard to admit) Ramos, there isn't a player in this Real Madrid side I would like here. Maybe Benzema as 4th striker and Isco if we didn't have Eriksen/Sensi.

IF there are no injury woes, we will get out of this group. That deep EL run wasn't a fluke. Us having all those goals last season and conceding such a small amount wasn't a fluke either. This Inter side is strong. We were above Atalanta, a side we dread EVERY time we play them. We finally beat Napoli away! This Real ain't all that.

Those refs they have are quite handy.

Stop using that excuse, no ref help last season as far as I can recall. This Inter should reach quarterfinals this season.

We can take points off of Madrid. They’re not Liverpool or Bayern. Fully healthy, I think we can go toe to toe with them. There’s honestly no excuses we shouldn’t go through this time around.

There's a decent chance Real Madrid is going to have a big 2021 summer window where they could strengthen their squad significantly - their only mercato business this year was bring Odegaard back from loan - so if there is a time to try and get a jump on them, now is a better time than next year.

But I 100% subscribe to the idea that they won La Liga last year moreso on the basis of Barcelona's underachievement than on their own team quality. This isn't the Real Madrid of CR7's years or anything terribly close to it. Benzema has played very well and deserves a lot of credit for having helped keep them afloat, but the current Real Madrid team isn't a big CL title threat. Bayern, Liverpool, Man City, and PSG are all comfortably better teams. We saw that when they played Man City and got thoroughly outplayed over both legs. It was a 4-2 aggregate that flattered Real Madrid.

Also, it's the group phase. Real finished 2nd in their group in both 2016/'17 as well as 2017/'18, when they later won the competition. They also finished 2nd last season. They're notorious for not showing up until the knockouts. Tottenham managed a 1-1 at the Bernabeu and smashed them at Wembley in '17/'18. Dortmund managed a pair of draws against them the year prior.

You are forgetting our greatest achievement of last season:

Beating Sassuolo for the first time in 6 years
