Can we not use that eyesore of a new logo here? Hurts my heart whenever I see it.

Raspadori would be sweet. Would give more tactical options.

Of course, Conte wouldn't know any of them.

Not an absolute terrible reality. All our key players are in their prime. Or for the likes of Lautaro, Hakimi, Barella and Bastoni still quite young. We do need midfield depth though. Or an upgrade to our current midfield. And obviously someone that can fill in for Lukaku who’s been blessedly free of injuries.

Fuck. If this is true, it means we are still skint, and this mercato will be like the last one :`(

No obligations to win for Inter
By Football Italia staff

Inter President Steven Zhang wants to keep all the stars at San Siro and will not make the Scudetto obligatory for coach Antonio Conte next term.

The Nerazzurri are storming towards their first Scudetto since Jose Mourinho won the Treble in 2009-10, but the patron wants to give Conte absolute serenity ahead of the next campaign.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Zhang, who is in Milan for the first time in seven months, wants to guarantee continuity to the club’s ambitions.

The big names in the squad should stay at the Giuseppe Meazza, but a massive offer would of course be considered by the club.

But the newspaper claims there are no signs that the backbone of the team will be tampered with.

The report claims Zhang will give Conte the serenity in determining the goals for next season, just like last August.

There is no obligation to win for the Nerazzurri, neither to defend the Scudetto, much less to bring home the Champions League trophy.

If that is true, it's clear the plan is to continue with Conte for a long time. That we keep building the squad for him and continue this path we've taken with Conte. That he isn't kicked out when we don't win the Scudetto.

I think a mercato similar to last summer always was the best case scenario with Suning in charge. It could have been even worse. E.g. selling starters in order to cover the losses and a massive cut of wage bill.

Keeping our starters and making only free signings and loan deals wouldn't be a tragedy but we have to be really smart in the transfer market. We need to look beyond ex Conte players and targets. There are always bargains if you know where to look. The management also have a lot of work to do with offloading deadwood.

If that is true, it's clear the plan is to continue with Conte for a long time. That we keep building the squad for him and continue this path we've taken with Conte. That he isn't kicked out when we don't win the Scudetto.

Not sure this is a good situation for Conte in the long term. Without investments he would have a tough job to do better in CL and defend Scudetto. From a sporting point of view perhaps the best choice for him would be to leave on a high after winning Scudetto. Of course he has 13m reasons to stay but the situation isn't ideal for him and i can't see him staying in the long term.

So this will basically be an education for Conte so he can educate himself to try reach a final in CL without the risk of getting fired? Brehme will be so happy

We don’t have a good enough 11 nor squad depth to seriously consider a champions league run.

We will need to win the league for a few more years to build up the money to hopefully have that ambition in 5 years to challenge again. I mean Juve has such a better roster than us and got Ko’d by Porto haha. You can say the coach sucks all you want but Porto isn’t a challenger either.

The whole Italian league needs to get stronger for an Italian team to win again

I've recently read some Conte's words that "he is tired of changing the environment and wants to stay somewhere longer". Staying at Inter will be fine for him, especially if he brings the scudetto. Fat salary, support of the players and Marotta. He can afford to wait season-two without any expensive buys provided that the core of the team will not be sold. Remember that this season, Suning also said that there are not any pressure on Conte to deliver the scudetto, but he's decided to stay despite that reinforcements were not so great as expected. I don't see any major reasons for him to leave now as well as any club to offer him same conditions as in Inter.

so maybe it's the time to create the players by ourselves. Conte is stubborn man, but he is excellent in developing players. That's a bit paradoxical, because he loves experienced and well-known players, but on the other hand he developed many great players like Vidal, Pogba, Bastoni, Barella or Lautaro.
We still have nice portion of talented youngsters - Pirola, Esposito, Satriano, Oristanio, Agoume or even Dimarco. It would be great to make one or two of them important players of our squad.

Our only way out of an abysmal summer transfer market is for the club to be sold. Suning need to gtfo.

Yeah, he's been talking like that for quite some time, not just in recent interview. Having a same coach for an extended period will create an identity to the team. And that will only improve the continuity.
