Congrats for the cup. I watched the game. You could have scored even more. Terzic has done a decent job considering the mess he inherited from Favre. Especially if you manage to finish in top 4. Perhaps your board made a hasty decision when they decided to hire Rose and they could have given a chance to Terzic instead.

Nah. Frankfurt will definitely qualify in CL. They have pretty easy schedule. One of Wolfsburg and Dortmund will miss out.

Ever since i said this, Eintracht are doing everything they can to prove me wrong.

Last week they got just a draw at home against Mainz while today they managed to lose at Gelsenkirchen against a relegated Schalke. Now they need a miracle to qualify.

Since Marco Rose said he's training Dortmund next season, Mönchengladbach's results got worse.

Since Adi Hütter said he's training Mönchengladbach next season, Frankfurt's results got worse.

Since it's clear that Julian Nagelsmann will join Bayern, Leipzig's results got worse.

I could kiss you right now. Schalke too.

But it's not over yet. Anything less than 2 pts in the last two games and we could be in trouble.

I really do rate Hütter as a manager, but I'm almost to the point of thinking that I would've rather left him and Frankfurt alone - if possible, at least; it sounds like he was likely to leave no matter what - if it meant them qualifying for the CL and Dortmund not. You can imagine that it doesn't please me that much that Rose will inherit a Dortmund team that managed to rescue it's season, win the Pokal, and will end up in the Champions League after all when it looked like well into April that there was a real chance they would fail to qualify this year. Not thrilled at all that Rose is going to get those plum benefits after all.

And speaking of Gladbach, after today, they have now lost 22 points from the second halves of games this season where they were leading. 22 points! Inter was awful about this last season, and even then Inter only lost 18 such points. And that's not including the two Champions League games that Gladbach ended up settling for draws after leading with only minutes left to play. 26 points altogether when you add those in.

Yet, the three lost points today are actually beneficial. With the loss and Union getting a draw against Leverkusen, Gladbach now sit 8th instead of 7th in the league table. That's the difference between avoiding the Conference League, and being stuck with qualifying for it. Union qualifying for the Conference League would be a great achievement for that club and would definitely be celebrated by their fans. Gladbach in the Conference League? GOD PLEASE GOD NO! Complete waste of time and energy. I would 100 times rather play a domestic-only schedule vs. play in that g-ddamned competition. Hopefully Union can win next week and clinch that 7th place spot altogether.

But boy is it madness to think that, even with *only* 11 lost points instead of 22, that Gladbach would've actually still been in the CL race. For comparison, they only lost four points in such a manner last season. The difference last season to this season truly has been astronomical. Next season is going to be better only because it would honestly be impossible to be this bad again. At least, that's what I'm going to tell myself.

Werder fired their coach and they brought back Thomas Schaaf for the last match of the season. It will be fun to watch Schaaf coaching Werder again even only for nostalgia reasons. They currently sit at 16th place and they are at real risk of getting relegated.

I'd prefer to see Arminia relegated than Werder or Koln.

It's possible actually, Koln should beat Schalke. But Werder beating Gladbach will be tricky even if they're playing for nothing. Stuttgart vs Bielefeld, not sure if it's doable odds are as similar as with the Werder game.

But it'd be an intense season in the 2nd division.

Imagine: Schalke, Hamburg, Werder, Koln, Nurnberg, Hanover, Hansa Rostock, Dynamo Dresden, 1860 Munchen (hopefully those are the three that go up), Fortuna Dusseldorf, St Pauli...

That'll be the best ever 2.Bundelsiga ever :D

Seeing a Nordderby between Bremen and Hamburg in the 2. Liga would be strange ... But Bremen was often lucky in the last years.

Reus drops out of the NT euro squad to focus on recovery for next season. Tough call.

He's had a great end of the season too, lots of clutch moments. Hope this form continues without injuries.

I've a channel that flips between the games, got onto the action for the second half.

Werder in shambles, losing 0-3 to Gladbach.
Koln vs Schalke at 0-0 still, Schalke thus far dragging those Cologne guys with them.

- - - Updated - - -

Arminia Bielefeld up 1-0 away to Stuttgart with a PK. Keeps them in the division.

- - - Updated - - -

Koln finally get a goal (they had one annulled earlier) in the 86th minute! Good stuff. This sends Werder down and Koln to the play out.

- - - Updated - - -

Epic turn of events as Union Berlin made it to Europe after reversing their game into a late win!

And Lewandowski just broke the record!

Max Kruse rescues Gladbach from the Conference League in stoppage time.

Tschüss, Werder Bremen. And maybe still a tschüss is in store for K*ln as well after the relegation playoff. Nordderby in the Zweite Liga next year!

Stuttgart striker Silas Wamangituka reveals true identity

A striker for Bundesliga side Stuttgart, Silas Wamangituka, has revealed his real identity. The player says that he was a victim of fraudulent practices by his former agent and Wamangituka is not his real name.

Silas Wamangituka says he is actually Silas Katompa Mvumpa. He is 22-years old, not 21.

Mvumpa's club, Stuttgart, announced in a statement on Tuesday that their striker had recently revealed the information to them, saying that he was a victim of fraudulent practices by his former agent.

Alleged agent malfeasance

Mvumpa had a tryout with Belgian side Anderlecht in 2017 and he says he was pressured to move to Paris by his former representative. Mvumpa's agent allowed the young player to live with him in Paris and, according to Mvumpa, also changed his name and date of birth. Mvumpa joined Stuttgart in 2019 from French second-division side Paris FC.

Stuttgart believe the agent altered Mvumpa's identity to help Mvumpa break ties with his old club in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mvumpa's home country, and also to increase the young player's dependence on the agent.

"With the support of Stuttgart and a new agent, Silas has been working intensively on clearing up the situation and finally received the corresponding official documentation from Democratic Republic of Congo a few days ago," the club said in the statement posted on the club’s website.

The statement adds that Mvumpa "wants to disclose all details of the manner in which his false identity and personal data have been registered with German authorities."

"It was a tough step for me to take to make my story public," Mvumpa said, "and I would never have had the courage to do so if Stuttgart, my team and (the city of) Stuttgart had not become like a second home and a safe place to me."

Stuttgart said they were fully behind Mvumpa and had the name of the player agent in question.

"We took all measures immediately and alerted all necessary authorities after Silas told us," the club's head of sport, Thomas Hitzlsperger said.

Mvumpa, who scored 13 goals in 27 games last season as Stuttgart finished ninth in the Bundesliga said he had lived "in constant fear for the last few years and have also been very worried about my family in Congo."

DFB launches probe

Stuttgart say they are in contact with the German Football League (DFL) and the German Football Association (DFB) about the matter and that they don't fear any consequences for the player.

The DFB announced on Tuesday that it has launched a probe into the matter. The association's regulatory committee "will review the matter with regard to possible misconduct by the player under sports criminal law," committee chairman Anton Nachreiner said.

After a legal assessment of the facts, Stuttgart say they believe "that Silas was and still is in possession of a valid playing license." Stuttgart also expect Mvumpa to receive a new playing permit with his real identity. He already has a new passport.

"We've made this case public to underline that we are proceeding in a transparent way," Hitzlsperger said.
