Maksimovic would probably be all around CB backup. Remember that D'Ambrosio is our current Skriniar backup. Wouldn't want D'Ambrosio to start games for any extended period.

Maksimovic is so underwhelming. Ranocchia can only play in the center.

but the ideal solution is finding a quality veteran defender on a free. Preferably one with some pace.

I am welcoming the links with Kostic via Gazzetta with great pleasure. Sadly i am afraid he isn't a realistic target without a big sale. Our best hope is Perisic having a great Euro and attracking some serious interest from EPL clubs but that's a long shot.

Why not keep Lazaro? it was Conte who demanded him. How was his season in Germany?

If there is no money, its better to get Lazaro back rather than sell Brozovic or Eriksen or anyone in the starting lineup.

Tagliafico once again said that Inter is a great club and that he wouldnt mind a new experience.

I dont believe he's anything special, but he is an upgrade over Young, especially if Dimarco will be sold.

Dunno, it's strange for me we are even linked to Tagliafico. I like him, but he doesnt seem like a LWB for me. He is a LB, defensively solid and decent in attack, kinda like Criscito used to be. Ive seen him even play as CB/LCB in Argentina.

Then again, i think he would be good transfer. Way better than Kolarov as LCB backup up, and also as LWB. Experienced but not too old, so if the money is right, i'd be ok with him.

We aren't exactly linked with Tagliafico. The links have come from Tagliafico interviews where he brings up a potential move to Inter. Tagliafico wants Inter more than Inter want Tagliafico.

Our wingback targets seem to be Gosens, Kostic, Emerson, Florenzi and Dimarco.

Low-cost LCB option would be Pirola from Monza. At least we should take him to our summer camp and see what the Serie B season did to him. He's been playing regularly for over two months now.

Pirola has had a great season. He looks very much like Bastoni. No wonder Atalanta is interested. I just dont want us to sell the kid. Have him train with the first team this sumer and then see. Conte did say Pirola was staying, until Kolarov came, so i think he can see that hes a good player.
The CB is the position i am least worried about. If Zinho could stay healthy, he can also be great.

Pirola is also club-trained if that matters anything these days (we gonna lose Radu and Pinamonti).

German Bild is saying that we could be in for Ginter from Borussia Mönchengladbach if we sell one of our defenders.

Ginter is a good cb and he would be an exceptional Skriniar backup but he isn't worth losing one of our starting cbs. His contract expires in 2022. Better wait one more season and sign him on a free next summer.

He's going to Bayern if he's gonna go to free agency. That's the standard procedure for the German players.
