No. His defence is decent, he has the speed and the stamina to play the whole side but he lacks in the attacking third which is quite obvious from his numbers. In 2 1/2 seasons in EPL he has 0 goals and 2 league assists. Wingbacks are very crucial in Conte's system. You can't have someone whose attacking contribution is minimal. On top of that, Chelsea want 20m for him. Marina is known for being a hard negotiator. She isn't giving discounts. So we shouldn't expect to get him for much lower than this.
On the other hand, there's Dimarco. Verona have a 6.5m option but Inter have kept a 50% of a future sale so bringing him back wouldn't cost that much. I am not a huge fan of the player. Imo he needs a lot of work in defence. But he has some interesting skills in the attacking third. Good crosses and set pieces and he also is a scoring threat. Outside top 7 he's the most interesting lwb option of the league.
Would i want Inter to bring back Dimarco if we had money to spend? No. I would prefer Inter to go for someone like Gosens, Kostic or Angelino. But if i have to choose between Dimarco and Emerson i certainly prefer our guy.
The right word to describe Emerson is average. He's average at everything while he doesn't excel at anything. On the other hand, Dimarco is more suited to Contismo, he's 3 years younger and, most importantly, he would cost significantly less. So for me the choice is obvious.
