Rough google translation:

Eriksen: "Conte's farewell was a real surprise, we had just won. Relationship always good, we saw football in a different way. Future? I'll talk about it with Inter after the European Championships. Certainly I'd like to play later rather than sit still in front of the defense, this sure "

Shots fired :D

Probably more comments coming later.

If Luis Alberto did succed in Inzaghi's 3-5-2, Eriksen will surely will as he is overall a better player than LA.

Eriksen would need to get more physical and urgent if he wants to play that Luis Alberto role. Luis Alberto doesn't fear contacts like it seems Eriksen fears. He needs to get to the dirty areas when necessary.

BUT we need to remember Eriksen wasn't "Conte's guy" from the beginning and he had great problems adjusting to Conte's football. Eriksen might be a guy who can't just switch to certain mode in his game. It took time for them both to understand how to play that mezzala role Conte wanted him to play. So I give the benefit of the doubt to Eriksen that he might look very different when playing for a different coach.

Translation: Conte sucks and his tactic sucks, but I am contractually obligated to speak nicely.

Just a small google translation error:
- Certainly I'd like to play later rather than sit still in front of the defense, this sure
should be:
- Certainly I'd like to play more in the attacking end rather than sit still in front of the defense, that's for sure.

Eriksen could very likely become the most important player under Inzaghi, if Inzaghi let Eriksen play "his game" and the team get another approach e.g. more runs etc... Inter has not seen the best version of Eriksen yet, not at all... due to the football philosophy Conte has. So Conte stopping can very well benefit Eriksen.

It most definitely will help Eriksen if he stays. Would be good for Inter too as we could get more return for that big salary.

And yeah, I understood the "later" part because of the context. I'm pretty good at understanding google translated Italian these days after reading those so much with Twitter's "Translate" funcionality. :D Some of the translations are pretty funny.

What you mean by urgent? Eriksen is generally clueless in other phases of the game, usually strolling around without any clear direction.

But when he gets the ball in the final third, his speed and precision of execution is something I've never seen Alberto consistantly display.

If Inzaghi gives Eriksen the room he needs and Lukaku maintains his monster form, we're surely in for a treat.

but we haven't seen Lukaku in real form since...IDK, at least a month ago. Too streaky. It's not that Lukaku don't get enough chances, it's that usually he doesn't shoot or he fucks up at least one shot per game. We still score more goals when Lukaku is on the pitch, but if we'll play 3511, I don't think the same might happen. Lautaro/Sanchez are very important for Lukaku.

Yeah Lukaku as the lone striker is a guaranteed failure. He needs a partner to make space for him.

I think Inzaghi playing a 3-5-1-1 had more to do with the talent he had at Lazio and less to do with it being his preferred formation. Inzaghi had to build that team to get the best out of Alberto, SMS and Immobile. That was just the way to make it work imo. I don’t think we will see him benching Lautaro to play Eriksen as a SS. Especially not after we won a scudetto playing with 2 strikers.

He also did a hard tackle around the 90th minute mark. I'll be watching him closely this Euros (and Delaney) but I'm still of the view that we should sell and invest in a more athletic / two-way player.

Btw I never ever doubted Eriksen's passing ability.

YEah if we are keeping Lukaku and Lautaro both. I think the 3-5-1-1 scenario is only for the case we gonna sell either of our starting forwards.

Eriksen infront of defence is useless, whereas upfront he is completely different. Alberto on the other hand is a good two way midfielder. I am still not sure though, if we have a midfield suited to give a freedom kind of role to Eriksen.

Eriksen started doing well in the second half of season but he was still not at his best at all. Hope the change in coach helps get his confidence back.

Speaking of Inzaghi preferred formation, he had said in an interview back in 2018 his favorite formation is 4-3-3 but he switched to 3-5-2 in order to get the best out of his players and especially Keita Balde who was poor on the wing.
